Arriving in Petit Paix

General Summary

Our heros came to the city of Petit Paix. They found their way to The Golden Dove and settled in.   After a quick trip to the bathhouse and a change of clothes they attended the opera at the Petit Paix Opera House. The enjoyed a show by Stefcia and met the opera house's owner, Gerald Martin.   After the opera they went to a bar called The Awesome Keg for a nightcap. They mingled with the commoners in the vein of the rest of the city. It was in the Awesome Keg that they discovered that two hunting parties have gone missing in the southern forest. They gathered some hanger ons and much to the chagrin of both Henri Valois and Ursula Henneberg, the young man who was giving thme informationseemed infatuated with the idea of the Eisen Monster Hunter.   The next day, they went to the chateau in order to meet with Annette Marbot, Marquess de Petit Paix about the missing hunters. They got word that the easiest way to get a private audience was to do a favors for the Marquess's valet Luc Dubois.   First, Ursula went to a tailor's shop to retrieve the Marquess's dress for the feast that night. She found that the shop was closed and after speaking with the merchants in the neighboring shops she found out that the tailor would likely not be back today. She was forced to climb a few crates and into the second floor window. She left a note with payment for the dress and took it with her to bring back to Luc.   Next, Henri Valois and Erich Heinz Gustav went to shop for a gift for Luc's husband Armand. They wandered through Fairy Rock and found a parfumerie. Henri found a light Lily fragrance oil which Armand could either wear as a personal fragrance or include in the candles that he makes. They continued looking for something that could be used as a dye for the candles and stubled into a very small shop (The Mysterious Shop). This shop was strange and otherworldly. THe merchant had an intreaguing quality to him. In the window of the shop was a pale lavendar bottle of dye which glowed as if of it's own volition. The pearlescent dye was priced at 500 guilders, but Cote had only give Henri 300 for the gift. Henri used his wiles on the shop keeper, and after an enjoyable bartering exchange, he bargained down to 250 guilders for the dye.   Finally, Cote DeTellier was asked to delivera message to the mayor of Petit Paix. He arrived at the mayor's office and was given a meeting right away. He delivered the package, and had a nice conversation with the mayor. Cote's unearing ability to miss nuance caused him to totally miss out on all of the cues that the mayor was giving out about the nature of the relationship between the giver of the gift and him.   Finally, after completing the favors, Luc got the party an audience with Annette Marbot, Marquess de Petit Paix. They presented the Marquess with gifts and she expressed her gratitude. She also insisted that they call her Annette rather than addressing her by her full title. Henri was reluctant to do so, however. Thery discussed the missing hunters with Annette and she was grateful that the heroes were willing to look into the potential of monsters attacking the hunting parties. They agreed that they would go into the woods to look for the hunters. Annette also asked Erich if he would be willing to put on an exhibition for the younger people in the city eaplining that they would be very excited to see the exercises of a true Sölden of Eisen.   That eveneing, a grand feast was arranged on Fishgreen. All members of the city were invited to takes food from thhe feast and all citizens peacfully took just enough without taking so much that anyone would be left wanting. Annette greated her people and feasted with them. Erick gave his exhibition to the very exited youth of the city and Ursula presented several casks of Eisen ale to add to the feast.   After a long night of partying and feasting the party settled back in to the Golden Dove for the night.
