Part 1 - The Church of the Yellow Hand.

Yrech Sturil, Highpriest, Art by Attacus
Sabretooth is welcomed by the Priests of the city's Temple of Ilvir a.k.a. The Church of the Yellow Hand. High Priest Yrech Sturil immediately recognizes Sabretooth and Smeg as being Ivashu and gives him a tour around the temple complex.

Sabretooth learns that the temple is continuing its 600-year mission of exploring the cities' catacombs and underground passages for a holy book. Unfortunately, access to some of the underground passages are blocked by the presence of huge aggressive insectoid monsters last seen patrolling the underground river bisecting the city. Worse, one of the temple's allies, Meyvein, a Miuruca, or Swamp Walker has gone missing for at least three months. This Ivashu's lair is located near where these monstrosities were last sighted.

Acheron and Sabretooth agree to investigate. The High Priest sprays some of the foul-smelling Fragrance of Veldarel over the Heroes, telling them that this will protect them from the fungal monsters guarding the temple's underground entrance.

Part 2 - Slugs.

The party makes their way into the temple's cellar and enter the underground passages. They find a dead body of a thief on the ground with a huge purple fungus mass growing out of his chest. Further down the passage, the pass several 3 ft tall semi-mobile fungal growths. These Violet Fungi shuffling aside to let the Heroes pass.

They then make their way down the underground river, using the small Yellow Hand Boat, flanked by Sabretooth's Ivashu Companion Smeg. Smeg effortlessly moves along the walls of the cavern. Two massive acid-spitting Giant Slugs attack from the shadows. One swallows Sabretooth, but eventually, both are dispatched. Sabretooth is expelled from the monster's corrosive gut and then collects eye-stalks and some of their deadly acid.

Part 3 -Bugs.

Further on, Sabretooth observes a large shape underwater moving in their direction. The giant Crustacean with two huge pincers and an underbelly covered with poisonous tendrils let out a high-pitched sound blast and attacks. The heroes avoid being stunned by the sonic assault and eventually butcher the Chuul.

Not far away is a cavern described by the High Priest, the lair of the Temple's Ivashu friend Meyvein.

Part 4 - Meyvein the Miuruca.

As the Heroes approach the cavern, they see two more of these insectoid monstrosities. They quickly row to an embankment so they can fight on solid ground. The Chuuls prove difficult foes. One with the hardened shell was incredibly resilient, although Acheron's magical Silver Sword did considerable damage. The monsters grappled Smeg and then paralyzed him and attempt the same maneuver on Sabretooth. Nearby another creature, partially concealed by water, makes its way towards the party. A large crocodilian shape leaps out of the water, attacking the Chuuls. Outnumbered, the giant crustaceans were eventually dispatched.

Miuruca, art by Columbia Games
Meyvein, the Miuruca, proves to be a strange and engaging character and grateful for the parties' help. He has spent the last three months hiding in semi-hibernation as the Chuuls moved into the cavern near his lair. Acheron questions him about the Assassin Priests of Naveh. Meyvein has observed and eaten a few of these over the years and has noted that they have recently increased their activity. He does not know of any secret passages they exclusively use but is certain none are located anywhere near his lair. As a reward for the Heroes, help Meyvein and asks Sabretooth to tell the High Priest that he can use the Green Idol.

The victorious Heroes search the lairs of the Chuuls, and among the junk, they find some coins, gems, and three potions. They quickly return to the appreciative Yellow Hand Temple, and Sabretooth is allowed access to one of the Church's holy relics, one of the famous Faragen Figurines, the Miuruca Idol. He can now take aspects of the Miuruca for a limited number of times. Sabretooth also hires one of the cities Alchemists, Lorin Lorinsen, to convert the Giant Slug Eyestalks into options of Potion of Darkvision.
