S23.2/JT - Roc-y Mountain Report

General Summary

Jugen and Reiji wake up and notice that Yamami, Yukio, and Mizuki are gone. They go to Saorise, who tells them that she sent them to assassinate Strahd’s commander. They then go through the teleportation circle to Argynvostholt and are reunited with the three, but suddenly, the circle explodes and is rendered useless. The road from Berez back to the war camp would take three days via horseback, but that time is dramatically cut short should they decide to go through Mount Gaki. With no other choice, the party decide to hike up the mountain.

Towards the top, a gargantuan Roc grabs Jugen and knocks him out. Mizuki grants flight to Reiji and Yukio and they engage in an airborne battle with the monstrosity and eventually manage to kill it. Unfortunately, Mizuki failed to dodge out of the way when it came crashing to the ground. She is helped up by the party and they then try to move on through the pass. They notice a hooded figure on a bridge trying to dissuade them from going through, but Reiji determines that it was just an illusion. Past the bridge, a goat charged at Yamami but missed, and went tumbling off the cliff.

  After a while, the group make their way back to the war camp, but they find it destroyed. Tracks seemed to lead towards Strahd’s castle and they rushed to follow. Once past the forest, they behold their allies about to battle Strahd’s horde.
