S20/JT - Childlike Wonder Report

General Summary

At the sake bar, several people get drunk and talk about their pasts as they try to gauge Yukio’s trustworthiness. Yukio talked about his dislike of his parents’ expectations of him but cannot remember anything else, while Mizuki relates that she has 3 older brothers. Kyo confides in Jiko that her secret is out and divulges that Yamami and Sana are of royal blood too, guardians of the imperial regalia, which included Tetsaiga. Jiko recalls that his dagger is related to the Tetsaiga somehow and tells the story he found about his dagger. He also mentions that he is part of the Jade Bailiffs.

Soon enough the party obtain enough tickets and proceed to the giant tent. Inside, a lively circus act was happening and they spot Akira enjoying himself up on one of the boxes. They wait until the show is over and they were suddenly approached by Akira. The party try to get him to come with them but he failed to recognize any of the party. He invites them to ‘somewhere else fun’ and the party reluctantly follow. They are then transported to an arena where a dinosaur race was ongoing. The party let him watch for a bit, but manage to convince him to go back to his library by reminding him that he used to go there everyday for fun. Once inside the library, Akira turns into an orb of light and leads the party to another door.

Past the door, they meet a different Akira wearing combat gear and overlooking a walled fort. He berates them for being late for the mission, and tasks them to find the source of the undead down below. He then shows the party the catapults that they will use to bypass the undead horde. Yukio and Reiji are flung from the catapults, while Mizuki casts a spell to give her and Jiko flight, with Yamami being carried by Jiko.

They make it past the undead and into a huge cavern. They determine the source of the undead to be the giant orb in the middle of the cavern and that they have to move it out. Once it was shoved out however, the cavern started to move and shake. The mountain starts to rise and it is revealed to be a giant, undead, tyrannosaurus rex.
