Session 85: God is Dead. Let's Afterparty.

General Summary

Servius Oleander, revealed now as a lich, stood battered by lightning and spells. The ivory worm was heavily damaged, its midsection and head both severly damaged. The Oleander soldiers had moved in to surround Levi and Tigs, but were falling easily by them.   The All-Father then summoned all of the lifeforce of everyone around him, absorbing their lifeforce to heal himself. Those who died from the summoning turned into zombie-like creatures fully of unstable necromatic magic. Tigs was knocked unconscious by this draining, but was not killed, brought back up to consciousness from healing by Illevaere.   As the undead Oleander forces died, they burst out in necrotic damage in the area. The ivory worm was taken down by the party. As Bolvaic charged toward the All-Father, he attempted to seize control of him and use him as a puppet to attack the others with control monster, but Bolvaic resisted the spell.   The few remaining untransformed Oleander soldiers began to flee and the party focused their attacks on the weakening All-Father. With a smashing blow from Grudgetaker, the bones in the All-Father's shoulder and arm snapped and splintered as he was taken down. Just as he fell, he gave a small smirk and simply said, "Fools."   As he died, the Oleander zombies collapsed and died, but the party noticed for a moment, the soul of the lich leaving the All-Father's body and move toward the Moonwell--heading to his phylactery in The Feywild. Tigs rushes off to hunt down one of the fleeing soldiers.   The party quickly moved to assess the situation. Wistari lay dead. Illevaere stated that his body should be returned to the earth to decompose as Mother Caena would want. Aralmeni stated that Ctenmillar teaches that you do not discard a tool that is broken if it can be mended, and revivifying him would mend him. Bolvaic backed the idea of restoring life the Wistari. Aralmeni told Illevaere that she did not know Wistari, so she would defer to them on what he would want. It was decided to speak to the dead to determine and Aisling put on her black lipstick to cast speak with dead.   Wistari stated that he knew he was dead and realized what was being asked of him. He said he had served the Court of Leaves and Whispers well, but there is still work to be done. He agreed to let that body rot and to accept a new body via reincarnation. He was taken into the Lodge while the party rested and healed and Illevaere prepared their spell.   In the morning, Illevaere performed the reincarnation and Wistari returned as a halfling--a form that he was satisfied with, though he asked the party to help move things down from the higher shelves. Tigs proudly told Wistari that he knows how it is difficult to have a new body and he would help Wistari adjust.   The party then headed into the Feywild and the Court of Leaves and Whispers to inform the Emissary of the Stag King what occurred. Both the Beautiful Fey Top and Elen of the Ways discussed matters with the party and the intention of the All-Father to use the Feywild to achieve actual divinity. The party tried to scry for Rivariin again, since they last saw him in the Court of Thorns and Brambles, but they could not reach him.   Travel from Court to Court is not just done. One should be invited, or at least have a request to enter be formally accepted. Realizing that they would need the aid of other courts of all seasons, as well as obtaining the goodwill to allow access to their courts, the Emissaries decided that the best way to accomplish this would be to invite members of each season's courts to a festival that would celebrate each of the courts and each season. The festival would last for a fortnight, ending in a council--which would hopefully garner enough attention to potentially have Queen Titania or Queen Mab arrive to get further support.   Their idea was to have the party ingratiate themselves to the different courts, to try to win favor and influence to help to convince them at the council. They discussed the attendance and offered to help the party prepare for the festival, as well as giving the party time within the mortal realm to ready themselves as well because, the Fortnight Festival will soon begin!
