Session Three: Stalking Goblins Strike! Report

General Summary

The Pals faced off against Piltox and his lackeys, who were after Ozma's Belt of Teleportation. Armitage made swift work of Piltox's followers using his new abilities granted to him by the Primal Tome of Arcane Light. Seeing that the group had an Archmage on their side, Piltox tried to flee but was made to Halt by Erastus' use of the Command spell. Armitage finished him off with a set of five pulsating magic missiles.   Elaria looted the goblins and found amongst them patches on the inside of their armor that looked like sharks. They were able to determine that this group was part of King Seeban's personal spy network, The Landsharks. Elaria also discovered a note written on a piece of red cord in Goblin that was wrapped around the hilt of Piltox's scimitar. It read: Burn it All.    Which is exactly what The Pastoria Pals did.    They dug a hole off the side of the trail and started a fire. While the bodies of the four goblins burned they decided on their next move, eventually coming to the conclusion that they were going to bring the Belt to King Angelo in New Viridia.   Instead of travelling the entire journey on foot, Daretti suggested that they use the belts Teleportation ability to get them to Verdantport, which would cut their travel time nearly in half. The group agreed and held hands as Daretti conjured up the memory of his mother on a beach just north of Verdantport near The Yellow Bridge, unbeknownst to Daretti this memory was shared with his Pals as they teleported to said beach.   Knowing their journey through the Emerald Forest to be a long one (around 25 days or 6 Pastorian weeks), Elaria, Malth and Armitage made their way to the NextQuest in Verdantport to pick up rations. Daretti did not want to go into the city he once called home, and Erastus stayed back with him. Malth called out some constructs who were escorting some upper class folk around the town center, and an older woman complimented him on his independence and outspokenness. Daretti confirmed this woman to be his family friend, Nimmie Amee, one of the most talented and prolific artificers in all of Pastoria.   The Pals agreed to help Daretti sneak into her workshop during the night so he could have some closure with her and find some answers about his mother's death. The group was discovered by To, Daretti's second cousin who was heading home from his new apprenticeship. To made a bit of a scene that attracted the attention of a patrolling guard. Fortunately, Elaria and Malth were able to save face and the group was able to make for Nimmie's without any more difficulty.   At Nimmie's, the group met Melior, Nimmie's new husband. He was healed using powerful artificy that was able to use mechanical parts to replace limbs and organs. He excused himself, and Nimmie was able to answer some of Daretti's questions.   The group learned:   Daretti's mother was trying to find a way back to Verdantport King Seeban is trying to steal and destroy any kind of teleportation magic and artificy to prevent that from happening Daretti's father may not be at fault after all Professor Fetchner at the Viridia Academy for Magic & Artifice (VAMA) may be able to decode Daretti's mother's notes
