Session Eight: Welcome to New Viridia Report

General Summary

After leaving Nowhere, the Pals found themselves in New Viridia. Once there, they decided to make way straight for the castle to return Ozma's Belt of Teleportation to King Angelo. Although skeptical at first, the knights guarding the castle led the group to the King who was finishing up visiting with a representative of the farming villages to the north of New Viridia. The King was shocked and grateful to the party and he rewarded them with 1000 gold pieces. He also allowed them to pick a weapon and set of armor from the royal armory. After gifting the party with lavish rewards, he asked them to stay in town for the next 8 days to attend a Royal Ball, the first in over a year. Representatives of all the major political factions in Pastoria should be in attendance.   During their stay, King Angelo suggested that the group check out a mysterious phenomenon that has been recurring at the Emerald Theater. Curious noises have been reported by overnight guards at the theater. When investigated no cause has been found. After taking a nap in the Royal Guest House, the Pals made their way to the theater to investigate. There, Elaria Vizard caught a group in purple cloaks who appeared to be engaged in some form of magical duel. Unfortunately, the cloaked figures escaped through a secret passage that was equipped with far too many wards to continue to pursue the group.   Putting their heads together, the Pals believe that the group at the theater might be connected to the Sixth Coven.   The next day the group headed to the Viridian Academy of Magical Arts to do some research. Daretti and Malth ended up scoring a double date with a Half-Goblin and her friend to see if they could get any information of Professor Fetchner. Armitage and Erastus found their way to the library. Erastus met a woman named Leticia who was studying ancient religions at the academy so that she could earn her doctorate from the university in Gafyros. Armitage recognized Leticia as his ex-girlfriend and promptly went away to study for the rest of the evening while Erastus and Leticia grabbed coffee. Elaria met a group of the "bad kids" and tried to fit in, but ultimately it didn't work out. They "invited" her to "hang out" at the courtyard at 10pm that evening.
