Session 17: Visions and Visitations Report

General Summary

Meeting with Tore Einar

After leaving the Tower of Divination the party made their way to the Gods’ tower, to see Einar. After paying their dues to the gods, they were escorted into Einar’s sanctum as he was interested to meet them.   He said that he wasn’t sure how much work he had for them, but, when it became apparent that Tarvy has something strange behind his eyes, he offered them use of the Gudsokere for a nominal fee.   Tarvy accepted first and went inside for a long time, coming out covered in blood, though with no perceivable wounds. He also drew an image of what he believed to be his patron.   Einar seemed deeply concerned by this, and said he would try to better understand what had gone on.   Miadi meanwhile agreed to enter as well and made his way inside, emerging faster than Tarvy had, and seemingly unhurt.   The party then took their leave of the tower of gods, deciding to split their forces, Tarvy and Gortan heading to see Ogrul Boutin in the tower of Artifice and Rukk, Thrack and Miadi heading across the city to the Tower of Beasts. Adra agreed to travel with the larger group, escorting them through the underground tunnels.

The Tower of Artifice

Gortan and Tarvy headed over to the tower, passing through the Undying quarter, and seeing various seemingly friendly undead. They arrived at the tower, a mess of cranes and construction and, after meeting Og-Bog the ogre, a touting Centaur guard and a halfling pickpocket, they made their way up the outside of the tower.   There they met with Ogrul, who was talking to “Barry” or Barus, a jumpy, scared seeming Elf Blood, who you discovered was a corpse merchant who had lost a shipment of corpses destined for Tobias in the Undying district of the city.   He took you down to his place of business, which happened to be where Og-Bog said he worked. He told them that the shipment may or may not have come from the fixer and may or may not have been dead Red Hands… he was very shady on any particulars, but offered you 1000 Marks if they recovered it back with the potential bonuses if the job were done particularly well. Gortan and Tarvy then made their way back to the Hope’s Hold.

The Tower of Beasts

While Gortan and Tarvy were busy, Miadi, Rukk, Thrack and Adra made their way across the city to see Zadock the Beastmaster.   They arrived and saw Zadock, a huge muscled bugbear strolling through his district, talking with livestock owners and examining their creatures.   He met the party and informed them that he had a problem with his Rhinoceros and couldn’t work out what was wrong. Thrack offered to speak with the beast, and, after Thrack had shown his credentials by talking to a pig, he agreed to let them in.   Thrack then spoke with the creature and was able to establish that it was lonely (and also not that intelligent). The party agreed to try to find it a mate in exchange for being allowed to see some of Zadock’s more exotic species.   They too then made their way back to Hope’s Hold.
