The Bog Monsters attack en masse, the party and allies are largely able to fend them off for a while, however, losses start to mount.
Highlights included
Marigold and Merdon having a fight, Merdon winning that fight and killing Marigold before being killed himself.
Ponsi being torn in half
Harry Bucketlump being bizarrely competent
Ogsel emerging with a brutal axe
Thrack finishing off Vasool who said that his job was done.
Eventually the airship managed to settle overhead, and the party were able to start boarding with the help of Ferloch and Zartagar’s Raven ally.
The Escape
Things were growing increasingly desperate on the ground.
Tarvy dropped down to try and assist Fight as he was trapped across the courtyard with his dead brother.
Clive was able to save Tarvy and Flight before beating a hasty retreat.
A few others died, however, many people were able to make it out alive, some of whom were heavily injured though.
As the airship took off, Braaz told them that he was dying and couldn’t follow.
Acseytan too was badly hurt and had lost her pack. She left her puppies with you, seeing you as worthy carers for them.
She did not see a way out, so helped Braaz to go down in one final blaze of glory as he detonated himself and her as the airship gained height, killing the creatures in the courtyard.
The rest of the creatures watched as the airship departed before melting back into the tar from whence they came.
