Session 42: The Road to Slowpass Report

General Summary

Controlling a Wyvern

The party proceeded from Castle Sunder, making their way towards Slowpass and Rivercross Fork.   As they made their way, they heard loud baying of a beast, deep and resonant, but simultaneously chicken-like. They approached and saw a muscled, female orc struggling to retain control of a beast, large in size with powerful wings.   The orc, Mang the Infernal, asked that the party assist her in getting her mount under control, and, after some considerable effort, and collegiate effort, they managed to do so. Mang expressed her gratitude and that she owed them a favour, and the group moved on, continuing towards Slowpass and Rivercross fork.   The Slowpass boys were sent ahead to Slowpass while the party made a detour to Rivercross Fork.

Rivercross Fork

Upon reaching the Fork, the party began to make their way onto the boggy ground, still strewn with detritus from the battle, though conspicuously, bodies were absent.   As they began to make their way, they were intercepted by a young halfling, Godun Bottomham, who fancied himself a tour guide.   He escorted them onto the field and explained various interesting points about the battle, such as that there had been a warrior, all clad in black, whose affiliation was unknown and who nobody had seen after the battle, and that there was a brown clad spellcaster, who too seemed to command tremendous power on the field, whose whereabouts after the battle was also unknown.   He also explained that various heroes and races were in residence, including but not exclusive to, Orcs, Bugbears, Halflings and Tabaxi.   After some time looking over the battlefield, the party decided that it was high time they visited the nearby Graveyard, about a 15 minute walk south.

Serpents in the Graveyard

On their way down, Godun mentioned he had not been down here and that he had heard something a couple of nights previous, snakey whisperings outside his hut. Through use of detect thoughts, the party established that the voices had been searching for something in the graveyard.   As they approached they also heard the sounds of battle and shortly after saw serpent like creatures in battle with the undead. Some almost feral and others half-man and half-beast. The undead were largely defeated, and the party soon after were able to defeat the snakes, who were gathered around a large hole in the centre of the graveyard.     Next Session Start: The Party is gathered about the large hole, the final serpent falling to the ground. Around them is a graveyard with two tombs, one at each end of the graveyard. The stench of rot fills their nostrils.
