Session 41: A Few Days Respite Report

General Summary

Organisation in Sunder

The party began their first day organising their allies, and sending them out to perform various nearby jobs:

Dealing with the Ankhegs

  • Bholin
  • Nadaar
  • Volaar
  • Shag
  • Needle

Exploring the Kobold Mine

  • Arela
  • Wickan
  • Elias

Hunting down the Mimic

  • Nobody

Diplomatic Mission to Priom Crana

    Thrack
This done, they discussed their next moves and came to the conclusion that the next place to visit was Slowpass, which could act as a potentially powerful ally nearby (until recently a powerful, neutral trading entity. The Slowpass Boys made it clear that they would like to see what was going.

A Demon and a Sinister Curse

Once this was done, Tarvy decided it was now a good time to try and summon his demon, Charon, a Babau. Calling him to the Material plane twice, he asked him several questions, including where The Forgotten might be, and establishing that she was likely to be down somewhere near to the Abyss. In addition, he brought through the head of a purple-eyed elf, clearly recently killed wherever Charon was.   With Bholin's help the party were able to speak to the this head, Ikaros Vasiliou, which gladly answered their questions, informing them that the Forgotten is indeed somewhere deep beneath the material plane, possibly in the Abyss or somewhere similar.   While this was going on, Hal had discovered that the harness picked up from the witch inside Carderby castle had been cursed, somehow tainted by the substances put through it. After some effort he was able to remove it, and Tarvy able to dispel its connection to him. The various mages in Castle Sunder got to work on removing the curse from it.

A Dungbomb Explosion

The following day, after dealing with a few chores, they were met by a dishevelled figure, an artificer and merchant called Dungbomb Fiddlewinter, former resident of Bassonne and now itinerant wanderer of the North. He, and his animated sack, Bertha, claimed to be highly qualified enchanters, able to deal with the party's needs.   After some negotiation, Dungbomb agreed to make the following (in this order):
  • Wand of Ray of Frost (Gortan)
  • Armour Deconstruction (Tarvy)
  • +1 Enchantment for Pistol (Blaize)
  • Chest of Holding (Hal)
The party then prepared themselves and set out, heading for Slowpass along with the Slowpass Boys.
