Session 15: Flight to Bassonne Report

General Summary

The Flight

  • The party made good their escape and agreed to head to Bassonne on board Ferloch’s vessel.
  • Various conversations were en route and at the night’s stop in Cluck. Here were the highlights:
  • Thrack got to know Wickan (The Wereraven) and Zartagar a bit better, finding out a little more about the politics of Aij Ulsoron (and the disagreements between the Enkh Taivan and Dain)
  • Gortan read Braaz’s journal (here) and started reading about it.
  • Josmul revealed herself to actually be Remi Marchand, and that the latter was her primary form.
  • Tarvy and Miadi got very drunk.
  • Tarvy nearly threw a child off the airship.
  • Clive and his family felt safest around the party and wished to stay with them even if it meant going into the mysterious city.
  • Tarvy tried to apologise to Stork (Fight) for his brother’s death and made an oath on the life of all those he cares about that he will bring him back. Fight in turn made an oath that should Tarvy lose sight of that goal, he would hunt down all those who Tarvy cares about, and they will know no peace, and Tarvy will remain as alone as his failure has left Stork.
  • The party said farewell to Little Sally and Clifford in Cluck.
  • Ogsel pulled Tarvy aside and told him to listen out for the Fixer when they reached Bassonne before retreating into the crowd.
  • They heard rumour of White Wolves murdering folk from the civilians of Cluck.
  • There was much discussion of the purple root vegetable known as Bananas.
  • Finyas was tasked with looking after the 6 Worg puppies.

The City

  • As the ship grew closer to the city, with its vast towers, 17 in all, 8 in the center, huge and imposing, and a further 8 outside them, with one, different from the rest standing in the middle. It was to this middle tower that the ship flew.
  • The Aesthetic of the city can be found here.
  • The air virtually fizzed around the party as they approached, magic and noise filling their senses as they crossed the city’s boundary.
  • As it made berth, it was boarded by a unit of guardsmen and mages who went through everything and everyone on board muttering spells and incantations as they went.
  • The party were eventually led up to the council chambers, with Gortan spotting a hooded figure watching them as they left the ship.
  • Everyone else was to be held on the ship pending the council’s meeting with the group.
  • The party were shown up to the council chambers, being carried up through a glass tube on a metal plate all the way to the top of the tower.
  • They were escorted into a large wide chamber, seemingly entirely see through, the entire city visible to them.
  • In the centre of this room were 9 occupied chairs, the council, who, already knowing who the party were, asked them to stand in the centre of their circle as they introduced themselves.
  • All of their pictures and names are here.
  • They then asked them to tell them what they knew of what was going on.
