Session 4: Welcome to Starsummit Report

General Summary

When the party first entered Starsummit, you spoke with Anzin, a dragon born, a refugee from the sanctuary of Perpetual Flowers. He described that they were under attack and that another druid helped him with an escape route, he was hit over the head and woke up in front of the forest that the party started at.   From there you spoke to the High Druid Council, who spoke about the other druid sanctuaries being attacked and requested help to find more information and to stop the druid killer.

• 11 days ago Klesavaria, the Sanctuary for the Circle of the Sheperd was destroyed. No known survivors.
• 21 days ago, the Church of the Forest, the Sanctuary for the Circle of the Forest was destroyed.
• 30 days ago, the True Pasture, the Sanctuary for the Circle of the Grassland was destroyed.
• 35 days ago, the Chapel of Earth, the Sanctuary for the Circle of the Land was destroyed.
• 46 days ago, the Perpetual Flowers, the Sanctuary for the Circle of Spores was destroyed.

During this meeting. Jonmar (The elder for the Circle of the Shepard) sensed something familiar about Penny. Penny then discovered that she came from the Klesavaria and that Cyr Undertree was her master/companion.   The party then left and went to the Inn to rest. At the Inn Vanomi ran into some familiar thugs from the ReBirth of the Vulture from the Village of Lostwatch who wanted her to join their guild for a big job that Eldon was planning. A fight ensued and the bandits being defeated, had their money taken and fled. Loranys had a conversation with Thilelyn Leadbraids "Lily" a refuge from, the Chapel of Earth in the Village of Summershade. Where she talked about the sanctuary being destroyed with fire and lightning. Loranys and Lily drank some purple worm wine that caused Lilly to become paralyzed and Loranys "called upon" Mystra, and she was not there to answer his call. When everyone settled for the night. Orthar heard a voice that told him about his family. Penny and Kinzie overheard this, and Kinzie found a black cat, who was lurking by Orthar's tent, there was a small encounter, and they discovered Hisu the Sneaky and let her go.   The next morning Vanomi, Penny, Kinzie, and Loranys went to the shops to sell and trade for needed goods. During this time, a couple of hooded bandits mistook Loranys for Ralnor Shaydark, who may be his father, who owes their guild 500 gp, and were trying to make Loranys pay up or join their guild. Loranys was able to convince them to leave because it was not his debt to pay, however, they threatened that they next time they run into him and the debt is not paid they will make Loranys pay up or join.   During this time Orathar spoke with the High Druid Council about what he discovered in the night.   The rest of the party then went to talk to the High Druid Council again. The council gave the party of the map. Jonmar was able to give more information to Penny about her connection to Cyr. She has been gifted his magic before he died, and because magic is unstable some were transferred to Kinzie as she was also nearby when Cyr died. Namys also sensed Herbet and stated if someone who may be stuck in their wild shape from needs some help to find Tofi Glowgrip the Circle of the Moon, High Druid Elder. Namys also spoke about the instability of Magic and suggested to go speak to the Wizards at Bratrelts Academy of Wizardry in Grimhill to see what they might Know.   From there the party spoke to more refugees where they discovered:

• druids attacking druids
• a black cat is involved
• the places were destroyed with fire and lightning
• There was a rumor about a Druid who was exiled for reasons about 20 years ago.
• The exiled druid came from the Perpetual Flowers - Circle of the Spore sanctuary
• His last name was Devonshire

The party then went back to the High Council and discovered just how not prepared the druids are for the attacks. The High Council provided some more information

• Zul Devonshire was exiled from the Circle of Spores Sancurary for wanting to uproot Silvanus, the God of Wild Nature, and become a God himself
• He had left during a time and became a Cleric where he got his Lighting Magic.
• He is a wood Elf
• His mother was a druid, his father abandoned him.

Party was very unhappy with the lack of preparedness of the High Druids.   You are still in the temple deciding your next steps.

1) Go to Klesavaria, Church of the Forest, The True Pasture, the Chapel of Earth, and Perpetual Flowers to Find any more information about Zul Devonshire. And bring any unprotected Druids back to Starsummit
2) Find out more about the imbalance and chaos in magic. Go to the Bratrelts Academy of Wizardry and see what the Wizards might know
3) Find Tofi Glowgrip and find out how he can help Herbert (possibly at The White Garden)
4) Figure out what happened to Lomnabelle, the daughter of the Innkeeper, who was last seen at the sanctuary of Perpetual Flowers.
5) Go North to find Orathar's wife and child, who may be sent to be sacrificed to a dragon. (If he lets anyone know about this) (Neverharbor)
6) Figure out what happened to Aubin Jaffré's Grandparents (The True Pasture)
7) Hunt down and kill Zul Devonshire
8) Ignore the Druids and see what happens
