Session 67: The impact of the Venom Blades open contracts. Report
General Summary
The companions of Franchise K pretty sure they know who killed the popular and favorite gladiator but why was the question that needed to be answered. With Dimmir beating the Master of ceremonies they had earned the right to participate in the gladiator games for the evening. At the 17th hour they all ate dinner as a group as all participants broke bread and shared a meal together. At this dinner Lt. Aetos Thessalos joined the companions asking for current updates and whether it was safe to let the game continue this evening. The LT was concerned about the safety of the citizens more so than the games. After dinner the party set plans for the evening. Zayrdi, Dimmir, and Marik prepared for the games. Arceven went back to Zandi's wagon and set up to watch the for the return of Zandi's husband Kaelen Virel. Zandi, Conan, and Dagwyn returned to town to look for the possible communications barrel that the Crimson Brother hood uses for communications. Karrin, Jasmal, and Dagon set in the stands with the incoming patrons to watch the games. Now the rules for the contest were simple, there was none anything goes. As long as there was no death. The three companions who were participating were in the main event. Arceven spent most of the evening as sitting and finding nothing. The three companions did when the fight with help from Dagon, Jasmal, and Karrin as outsiders who had money on the game were aiding the Gladiators. Dagwyn, Conan, and Zandi were able to find the barrel outside of town and discovered that the princes of Geleon have now have contracts on them from some unknown organization known as the Half Defiant. A note of interest as Arceven was leaving for dinner to head to the wagons a Dagger with poison was thrown at him but missed. There were also two other documents found in the barrel. Conan still feeling the effects of being exposed to the River Styx did his best to rush to Arceven aid and warn him of the contract. Dagon while the contest was going on was visited by Baroness Lyra Phaedro one of the three city council members appointed by the King Uther Pendragon. She was also interested in the investigation of the murder victim and was asking questions about Acquisitions Incorporated as well. Meanwhile as Arceven was watching the wagon he spotted a flying creature in the background of the crescent moon approaching from the north heading to the village. He could not tell what the creature was as it was to far but it was approaching the town. The three companions were able to defeat the three gladiators in honorable combat, intimidation, and some trickery of magic. The crowd was thrilled with the contest and the results of the main events. Money was lost and won. Conan out of breath reached Gladcon and began the search for Arceven. The light used to find him also let the would be assassin find there mark as an arrow flew striking Arceven in the right shoulder. As poison began to spread they looked for the would be assassin who left their trade mark with a coin with the number 1 burned into the coin which Arceven immediately destroyed for all to be seen. The poison was able to be stopped when the creature flew over GladCon. No one panicked in the town as all the citizens of the town sensed a sense of peace saying that it would be safe passage to home as the town guardian was out tonight. The creature that everyone saw was described as the following: A majestic creature soars through the night sky, its silver-blue scales shimmering faintly in the glow of the crescent moon hanging just behind it. The creatures wings are vast and ethereal, almost translucent, like a veil of stardust and mist against the deep indigo sky. Its long, sinuous tail trails behind, leaving a faint glow as though tracing constellations in its wake. The creatures eyes gleam with an ancient, silvery wisdom, reflecting the cool, serene light of the moon as it glides silently above, embodying both grace and mystery in the quiet of the night. The creature did not stop to attack but continued its flight heading to town.
