Session 82: The Shadow Assassians

SESSION 82: THE SHADOW ASSASSINS. EVENING OF THE 18TH OF DIANA

The companions of Shining Eclipse have arrive in the city of Babylon on the evening of the 18th of Diana. The companions have spent the last 2-tenday or more in the Legendary Socrates Forest. There current job is taking them back to their headquarters in the city of Soteropolis. Arceven, the leader of the adventure group as well as the franchise leader of Acquisitions Incorporated franchise K is thinking about giving his team five days off as they have done several back to back jobs. First things first they still have three days of travel before they get home. The trip back to Soteropolis for the most part has been uneventful. The companions ran into three redcaps fey when they reached the eastern end of Lake Kriton where the Socrates River run into before picking back up on the western end of the shore of the same lake. The party and the crew of the Silver Current was invited to a party of celebration by the village of Kananas due the heroic acts the companions did earlier on the trip saving the many men and freed the little girls and women of the village they were to be sold into slavery by the river pirates.

The City of Babylon once called the Three rivers city due to the special council that met here do decide who would be the protectors or Guardians of the Socrates Forest. When the council met it was just a small village of farmers from the local area. The Black Legion Empire had not yet discovered the economic importance of this region. The elves at that time had a very strong influence because this village was the boundary between the Socrates Forest and the Drowned Forest. The elves at this point found a way to stop the atrocities in this part of what was once the Socrates forest that is now the Drowned Forest. They were able to stop the spread of what caused the drowned forest and the City of Babylon was a key to that. The city of Babylon is where three rivers converge for the most part. The Tigress and Euphrates rivers combined just north of the city of Babylon and then the Tigress river converges into the Socrates Rivers in Babylon. Once King Arthur IX took over the region of OreIda he began developing this area knowing the economic advantage it would give this region with the rivers and moving trade. The Pendragons put what resources they could afford after the war of the Ancients into this area of the Soteropolis region. The village once only had a few hundred people, now it's a large city of 45 thousand of mixed races. Babylon is a major trade city for moving products to Soteropolis from the cities and villages that live on these three rivers.

The night life of Babylon is typical for a city this size as well as the merchants, mariners, and farmers who use this city to move their products to Soteropolis. The cities districts curtail to many different cultures, races, and classes. If one wants to find what they are looking for they will find it in this city. This being said the companions of Shining Eclipses enjoyed the night life in their own way. Conan, Arceven, and his appetence worked on a project together. Dagon decided to just stay in the cabin of the Silver current. The ships cook Mira Thornberry had brought them a special hobbit stew a secret recipe she had learned from her home country of Geleon. Dimmir and Jasmal went the noble district to have dinner and look for contributions to her sister order. while there they were able to get 700 Sheckels in donations as well as meet a gentlemen by the name of Lavrentis Angelellisa a merchant from the city of Tibur who had heard about this new guild by the name of Acquisitions Incorporated who was new in the area and for hire. Lavrentis wanted to meet with leader of the franchise to conduct some business. He was willing to go to the river district to meet with the leader on the Silver Current. Marik and Karrin went and had dinner at a middle class establishment. Marik was wanting to get know Karrin better. Beside friendship these two also had something else in common as both of these races were almost exterminated by the Namar Dynasty in the realm of Zavabu. During dinner Marik and Karrin over heard a conversation about a Tabaxi clan in the area. Dagwyn and Zandi took a stroll through looking for items of interest. Zayrdi went to the seedy part of town where a well know inn called the Stumbling Satyr. This was not the first time that she had visited this establishment. Tonight was ladies night and there was a tournament for fight Club "Wait we do not say fight club." in public. Zayrdi paid the entry fee and walked out with 1000 Sheckels for winning the tournament and once again beating the minotaur who was considered the champion of the establishment.

Tonight was an extremely busy night in Babylon and all the inns were booked and had no rooms available forcing the companions to go back to the river boat to sleep. As the companions who were out on the town returned to the river district where the Silver Current was moored for the evening they began to run each other at they neared the river district. Jasmal true nature began smelling undead near the crates of freight that were on the docks. She warned the party as they got near the Silver Current giving the party time to prepare before they were attacked by Shadow Assassins. This fight took a little bit due the nature of the Shadows and their ability to hide in the shadows. Several members were wounded by these deadly assassins. The damaged caused by the weapons of the Shadow assassins zapped the strength of several players who were struck. The effect of these wounds will take several days to recover fully. The party members with the help of Farey fire and some skilled perceptions checks and a cleric who made one of the assassins run from her was able to be defeated.

• 700 Sheckels for the Temple of Choice for Jasmal from contributions given to Dimmir and Jasmal at the Golden Ember Inn (Babylon)
• Karinn and Marik discover that a Tabaxi clan has moved into the area and may be responsible the recent family troubles with Mariks Family.
