Session 5 - Hunting Nightmares Report
General Summary
The party spent the day finalizing their discoveries from the various scenes of disappearances...
- Attacks spread outward from Greyon's home
- The City Guard seems to be covering up disappearances - at the very least not taking them seriously
- Scratches are present in nearly all scenes - no two scenes are identical
The patterns in the scenes come in a few varieties, although the connections are yet to be drawn... There is often one or more of the following pieces of evidence, conveniently missed or left out of reports from the Guard.
- Large scratches - also often leave some extra-planar(?) residue(?)
- Small scratches
- Chaotic or frantic scratches (1 scene)
- Traces of Soot
- Unnatural silence (1 scene)
- Some scenes have signs of a disturbance or a struggle
- Some scenes look like the person just up and vanished - (left no trace/left work unfinished/door unlocked from the inside/etc.)
Greyon's home had evidence of all kinds of these pieces of evidence, but it was extremely difficult to reconcile what exactly had happened, especially with a recent burglary involved as well.
Also- as fortunate winds would have - Shaharazad happened to be in town during a pivotal moment for Luce. With her attention waning and inspired to find something new and interesting, Shaharazad reminded her that some of the best mysteries only make sense at the end of the tale, and it sometimes takes a bit more patience till things start falling into place. With the reassurance from her best friend (and sometimes patron) that this will turn out to be a thrilling tale, she is ready to settle in once more with the group and tackle whatever comes next.
Where will they head next? To the Guards, to bitch about their incompetence? To the Research Institute, to ask about their records or missing employee?? Will they steak out Greyon's home, or follow the Research Institue's second-best man home after working late?
I guess you'll have to ask them.
