Onward to Ironspur

General Summary

Flamerule 1st - Year of Rogue Dragons

The days after Asheron Coyl's gala were a bit of a blur. The party now knew that the "packages" (i.e. heads) would be leaving from Heliogabalus for Ironspur soon. They contacted Angus, Bluto, and Talia to ask the three to keep an eye out for the shipment. As that happened, the Magnificent Seven started receiving their own mysterious packages. Tai had a delivery from the Seldrinar, while Pagu had a package awaiting him in Ezekiel Hekrit's care at the Monastery of Saint Kruskien. Reed Goodbarrel, Ulfgar Hammerfall, Halorin Poorleaf, and Xenos Sunstrider all had packages delivered to Goodbarrel Manor.     These gifts all seemed to be connected with one of the fallen members of the Knights of Virdin, and each included a signet ring similar to the ones found in the Sanctuary under the streets of the Old Quarter.     Jinx chose this time to leave the party, not wishing to leave the city or his charges. In addition, Xenos Sunstrider received a visit from the Monastery of the Yellow Rose and left with his brothers. Although Reed felt like this was forced and would have stepped in to stop the Monastery, Xenos assured them all it was for the best.     Ulfgar was finally able to pick up his plate mail, fitted to his size when they had another visitor. Jostlyn Ferrar, Keeper of the Vault of Waukeen met with the party and gave them each a letter of marque for a 2,000 gp deposit placed at the Vault on their behalf. The benefactor wishing of course to remain anonymous. They would, of course, be allowed to deposit any gold they wished now that they had accounts, withdrawals require a 1% fee however.    

Flamerule 6th - Year of Rogue Dragons

By Flamerule the 6th, the party began getting a bit antsy, and Ulfgar suggested they head to Ironspur first and wait for the shipment there. Heading out, they made their way to Ulfgar's home.     It took one full day to travel from Heliogabalus to Morovar. Another full day of travel brought them to Caullyn. From Caullyn, it was only a bit over 10 miles to Goliad which they quickly passed through and making it to Helmsdale very late in the evening of the third day. A day and a half more travel brought them to Ironspur.     Ulfgar Hammerfall led them through the Ironspur Trade Center to the entrance. He set everyone up in the Copper Stein, a pub he frequents a lot while at Ironspur. Here, they met Kurtho Brokentooth and were asked to sit a while so that Ulfgar could get them into the mountain. Reed's brews were unable to impress the Rageborn tavernkeeper.    

Flamerule 11th - Year of Rogue Dragons

Uflgar returned with passes for everyone. His father, Clan Chief Kirin Hammerfall met the group and in a private conversation was briefed on the mission. He agreed to have agents of Clan Hammerfall watch for the shipment.    

Flamerule 13th - Year of Rogue Dragons

The next two and a half days were consumed by planning the assault on Dourstone Hall once the shipment arrived. The final plan would have Tai position himself near the clan entrance and use his familiar, as a spider, to listen for the password. They would them use the password to enter and Pagu would magically attempt to locate the casks. On the 13th, the casks arrived.   Once they were sure the casks were inside, they acted on the plan. Tai was a bit surprised when the password turned out to be "Hail the King in Yellow", but it got them into Dourstone Hall. It didn't take long for Reed Goodbarrel to find a secret door and try to ditch their escort, at which point they were attacked.   Now using Pagu's magic, they attempt to find the casks and learn the secrets of Dourstone Hall.
