The Players make landing in the city of Sleethold. Sleethold is cold, icy, and ran by a mad wizard who now hates Kobolds and Jim hawkins. Will the warmth of Sleetholds taverns beckon the heros towards a fruitful future, or will the mighty lizards and Jim sink in the city of ice.
Upon convincing a small band of sailors and ex navy men they immediately stormed outside the inn and began making way to Jims ship. The black ashen downpour pelted them with every step and the thunder grew louder than before. Ropes and chains struggle to hold the moored vessels dancing and rocking harder and harder. After a quick jog they came upon a large steel merchant vessel. The name of which was covered in ice, along with most of the deck. She had 1 large steel stack that dominated the center of the ship, with large paddle wheels either side. Masts and ropes adorned all over her with ice clinging to as much of the fibers as possible. She sat lower in the water than normal, perhaps due to the ice or a maybe perhaps due to a full hold. With 4 cranes dotted evenly along the center of the hull its clear she was built to haul the mightiest of cargo. She was every bit of thousand feet long, (1300 kobold feet) and 120 feet wide. A black steel plated hull with a few scrapes and dents her and there told a story of old girl with a vibrant history. As the haphazard half-crew begin to undo the mooring lines and other wise race to prepare the steely beast the ground begins to rumble, the water churns. The mountain is coming down any minute now. Many things are racing through Jim’s mind, but none brings him more worry than the idea of the cold dead heart of the ship which hasn't belched a puff of smoke in months. He naturally keeps this to himself, “ignorance is bliss” he bargains. The original creators of the crude steam powered system never intended for such a lumbering mechanism to be primed, started and ran hard in such short succession and would have even thought the idea impossible, but then again they never encountered desperate kobolds. Can they raise the steel beast from the dead and escape the ensuing calamity or will they be claimed by the mountains folly and be forgotten with the rest of ColdHarbor?
Will the Heroes slay the evil mage working for olthazhar? or will they perish? And what will they do with their newfound ally?
Another day passes on the corpse of Brent, will the party finially make the journey to their old freind? or will olthazhar pay a visit first?
Session one kicked off with the 2 kobolds wandering through town during one of the ashstorms. They wandered for a while until they heard some joyful music and celebration which is something unusual in these dark times. They approached a local fisherman smoking outside and inquired about the party and he merely shrugged and directed them inside. Once inside, after a free drink, they heard rumors of the mountain's collapse and the inevitable demise of the city. The news was relatively recent; perhaps some of the city's officials were roaming the town spreading the word to the locals. Rather than run and die tired, many locals decided instead to partake of one last celebration. However outside the windows in the street the two kobolds could see many scrambling to board what ships were left of the once innumerable fishing fleet. An old weathered captain alerted the 2 lizards that most of those ships haven't moved in months and would be nowhere near sea worthy in time. Upon Searching for a captain to hire to ferry them away from this nightmare, they were pointed in the direction of lonely middle aged man Jim. Upon speaking with him they were informed that most of jims crew were nowhere to be found. However he had a ship and that was half the solution they were looking for. They 3 scoured the in searching for a few sailor brave, or drunk enough to go outside and weather the horrid conditions to attempt some form of escape.
