Session 15 Report

General Summary

The Ghost Steppes, Daetus, October 17th, 1896 P.M.E

The party finally got to talk to the strange knight Osric Vanuyen and determined that the enemy of their enemy is their friend. As a result, they chucked the bodies of the Khanate Horse Archers into the ravine below and took camp for the night, with Osric taking first watch.

Bandit's Breach, Daetus, October 18th, 1896 P.M.E

The party travelled onward to Bandit's Breach. The roads were notably packed and the streets were chaotic. However, the scene was quite a pleasant change from their last visit. The markets smelt of roast meet and exotic spices, rather than the usually scent of stale urine and hot shit. The first merchant's tent that they entered had a peculiar Gnome peddling various magical items and potions. He was guarded by two sets of animated armour. After some slightly hostile banter the two groups decided it was best if the visiting party left. Mork decided to purchase some noble clothes pertaining to the Elven culture of the Khanate.

Eventually they ended up at the Electrum Pitcher, a tavern and Inn located in the Rogue's Farthing (The southwest district of the city). Osric grabbed the bill and ordered the best food and wine the tavern had. They exchanged some small interactions with the beaten and bruised half-elven owner. Osric and Snasil talked to a guard at the royal palace stating that the House of Vanuyen would like to give the Khanate their blessing. They scheduled a meeting with the Khan's Advisor, Salzaphir Raloryn, to discuss housing of a fellow noble and invitation to the royal feast. In the mean time Osric got a custom tabard bearing his heraldry and some good wine at the Feathered Cock in the Upper Dale district. Eventually they returned and Salzaphir granted them both room and feast access at a table with the lesser house of Bormatothe.

Snasil and Osric entered the royal palace, storing their weapons and armor in a bank deposit box in the Upper Dale. The pair was seated with an eccentric goblin named Benji Bormatothe and his bodyguard. Mork and Yera shadowed the entrance to the palace and tailed a food cart to a cookhouse in the industrial district. The pitboss, confusing him for another goblin, yelled at Mork for being late and demanded he get his slacks on, Yera and Mork complied. Not too long after another goblin showed up, Mork quickly hid himself in a food cart. Yera, alongside other culinary staff, wheeled the carts into the palace. Upon arrival, Mork snuck out of the cart and peered into the feast hall. Guards littered the room and Faowin sat there at the head table near the Khan. Snasil saw him and excused himself to use the washroom. Mork and Snasil exchanged dialogue and Snasil returned to the feast. Benji, after drinking heavily decides to go the the washroom. In his drunken stupor he thinks Mork is his brother Bentley and embraces him. At this time, Yera tells the pitboss that she quits and roams into the hallway. Benji throws up all over Mork, after which Mork and Yera guide him to the washroom. He then passes out on the toilet and Yera locks the stall to watch over him while Mork changes into his jacket. A dance has begun in the hall. Snasil and Osric are making fools of themselves in the lesser house dance circle. Mork enters the hall and joins the dance. Eventually, Faowin makes her way down to the lesser house circle and asks Mork what he is doing. She explains that she would want nothing more than to leave and run off with him, but she can't as her little brother is in Osset. Her betrothed is the Bailiff of Osset, and also a megalomaniac who needs a military alliance with the Khanate to bolster his forces. Faowin is the key to the alliance as this is a political marriage and she fears what the Bailiff will do to her brother if she refuses his proposal. She pleads for Mork not to do anything stupid as she must wait till she is in Osset to make her next move. Mork returns to the washroom defeated and angry.
