Session 3: Riddles by the River

General Summary

The party left the camp in which they had battled the owlbears, now generally well rested. After some stern warnings about battle tactics from Frances, the party continues to follow the trail left by the ogres.    After a while, they made it to a river. As they approached a bridge over it they found the rotting body of a man who had been torn in half. In his half they found a note with riddles written on it, along with a warning that wrote: "Not enough...". When they then approached the bridge a troll appeared. When discussions didn't lead anywhere they challenged it to a game of riddles. Which it happily accepted.    The troll known as Trongdong was apparently much more well-versed in riddles than his appearance intelligence would convey. The game went back and forth for a long while and when Nakor thought they were at risk of losing, he used his magic (which doesn't exist) to influence the troll's mind. This seemed to have worked. And after a few more riddles Kazagal came up with a genius idea and made a riddle describing a glowing rock that only worked in his hand. He then took a normal rock and made it glow in his hand, thus fulfilling the riddle. The troll, hesitant to let them pass, but even more so to betray his orders, smashed the bridge. He then left to sleep in his cave, content with his decision.    The party then had to find a way to either fix the bridge again or find another way across. Dormaruk came up with the idea to fix the bridge which was still attached to the other side. He first tried with his hempen rope but managed to drop it in the river. He then attempted the same with his other rope, to great success.    Upon crossing the river and traveling a few more hours, they arrived at a cave entrance protected by a goblin and an ogre. They decided to camp out nearby to make a plan of attack. At dawn, they charge!
