Session 32: Sharing the Spoils

General Summary

Waking up among the damaged treasures of the now-dead dragon, which was also lying on the floor in front of them. Aledain had fallen into unconsciousness behind them from exhaustion after shooting the blast that finally killed the huge dragon. Jeanne gathered the party to discuss how they were to continue. However, where she was calm and collected, the rest were filled with adrenaline from being near death and from the heat of battle and were thus more inclined to wanting to celebrate at that moment.   In the end, they began to plunder the treasury. Sadly the piles of gold pieces had been melted into giant lumps of gold that would be near impossible to move. But there was still about 24'000gp for them to share, as well as tons of magical artefacts and other valuables. This didn't fly with Jeanne who found it despicable, instead, she wrote a message for the Emir to come and meet them at the tower. When Aledain awoke she also started an ethical debate about the spell that their guide used, which ended when they agreed to disagree.   The group explored the tower a bit and Nakor managed to make himself blurry for a while, trying to comprehend the magical machinations of the tower. Aledain managed to find the one thing he wished from the treasure, a ring that he said had belonged to his mentor. The party then left the tower and camped outside. The next morning they noticed that Aledain apparently lived in a small lamp, much like Nakor's bag. The coming four days, as they waited for the Emir, was spent by the tower.   Jeanne and Conn asked Aledain a bunch of questions to try and understand his nature a bit better before they gave up and began to organise and catalogue the dragon's hoard. Nakor and Um got to know Aledain on more friendly terms. Nakor seemed to vibe with the man. They were even invited inside his lamp which was bigger and more comfortable than Nakors bag.   When the Emir arrived they were praised as saviours of Harasan. They were dubbed the Dragonslayers of Harasan. The praise was even more potent when they brought the Emir down into the lair. There they also told that the Emir's trade-master was missing following their expedition, and the party figured that This was most likely the dragon's son, the party figured, proving Aledain's suspicions correct. Aledain was then offered a position at the Emir's side. To prove his loyalty, he offered the Emir his mentors ring, which apparently held a lot of power. When the Emir put it on, his posture became better and his eyes got a fiery glow for a second.   The party then left on camels brought by the Emir with their reward from Harasan. The Emir would stay to salvage the rest of the treasure so that they could rebuild, as well as spending it on endeavours laid out by the party. Content with themselves, their pockets filled with gold, and with new magical equipment the party heads back to more adventures.
