Session 19: Somber Revalations

General Summary

The group found themselves on the Pitched Wanker after having defeated Captain Thrope and his elemental crew. After tying the unconscious captain up, they started to walk about the enemy ship, checking with the crew, and making sure that there were no more enemies on the ship. Nakor, after retaking his normal form, along with the others, entered the captains quarters. There they found a mess and words written in deep speech all over the walls, floors and ceiling. Thanks to Nakor they managed to figure out that these all said one sentence: "The Lord is lying!". During this Kazagal managed to find a magical trinket in one of the captain's drawers. Nakor then turned himself invisible and began to sneak around the ship. During his search, he managed to find a chest with gold and valuables, as well as two magical items.    Following another thorough search of the ship, the party brought their things back to the mermaid, and take some time to talk and attempt to process what had just happened. Kazagal felt responsible for the crew's deaths, but after talking to Jeanne he felt a bit better. But when he expressed that he valued her, Jeanne became offended.    After some r&r they began to interrogate the captain. During the interrogation, some torture was employed, as well as some magic persuasion. The latter actually managed to bring another personality forth, which more resembled the Thorpe Dormaruk knew. This didn't last long and after some more torture, the devastated Igor, blinded with rage after the death of his twin, charged the laughing maniac. Before the crew managed to stop the raging loxodon he got a good hit in the chest of the captain. Dormaruk took a moment to think and after a suggestion from Kazagal, he thought back to a moment that might help him bring the real Thorpe back. He then brought up the captains wife, which worked. He told them a lot of helpful things about the temple below. He then begged them to save his wife and the people he had helped them capture. Afterwhich he begged Dormaruk to kill him. The captain complied, much to Jeannes chagrin.    Following this, the crew held a ceremony for the deceased before sending them off on the pitched wanker and having Nakor set it on fire. After this, the party started to rest and prepare for heading down into the temple in the depths.
