A Friend in need Report

General Summary

The Party travels to Chessits to meet with Jasper Eventide who is their best chance of finding out what happened to cantatus.  There Jasper confirms that Cantatus was taken in by the pirate Corsair.  Then something has gone south, and he disappeared.  Jasper did not know what happened to him, but told the group that Corsair's crew had a recruiter in the Broken Dreams Gambling House  named Cora Gotham.  
  The Party made their way there and as they were about to enter they made the acquaintance of Wentworth Richfield.  He was betossed out the door, to land in the street bootless.  It seems Master Richfield has a bit of a gambling issue, and lost more than he could pay tonight, the Bouncer taking his boot, a gift from his daughter-in-law, to settle up.  The group helped him get back up and were even able to get his boot back from the bouncer, an unpleasant man.  He thanked them, and told them he was at their service if they needed anything.  He was actually the owner of a small ship that made runs across for lake and a moderately wealthy man.  
  With Mr Richfield settled, they roamed the tavern looking for Cora, when she finally revealed herself to them.  Not before Travayn had drawn a lot of attention to himself first with a very public display of magic and an equally public  admission of being companions with a dragon slayer.  Despite that Cora, explained to the group that she knew cantatus and that she was pretty sure he was no longer with the living, an outcome Crissius was sure had not happened.  The group then decided to pretend they need the services of the Corsair, and would pay well.  Cora agreed to set up a meeting with the cres at an abandoned warehouse at the old boken docks.  
  The party, not sure of her intention, checked the area first and found that they were being set up.  They decided to ambush the ambushers and defeated them in battle.  With only a little leaning one of them talked explaining that Corsair sold Cantatus to the Lizardmen of Smoke island, and was was to be sacrifice to thier volcano god.

Rewards Granted

They learned the fate of cantatus.
