The Festival of Spearfall

Cerc exists as the final point of light.   In the last battle, the heroes of legend sacrificed themselves to raise the barriers that have kept Cerc safe.   The ritual also ensured that the King of Cerc, a young man at the time, would live 500 years until heroes would be found that would help reclaim the world for the light.   The ritual ensured that Cerc would always have room for refugees that entered in the name of the light, Cerc would always have food and fresh water.   Focused on the point of Spearfall, the wards extend for a day ride on a horse outside the city walls in every direction. Every year, during the festival of Spearfall, enterprising young men and women take part in a ritual ride, they take off and try to cover as much distance as they can before night. The ride is not for everyone, those who truly endeavor to expand the reach of the light ride as far as they can into the edge of the darkness. The true champions of the ritual bring back something that shows they faced the dark.   You have gathered to participate in the festival of Spearfall and earn your place in the ride. Successfully completing your ride will allow you to join the Hall of Heroes in Cerc, part adventurers guild, and part political body.
