Continued battle against the Frost Giants.

Lucky, being badly wounded downed a bunch of healing potions until he was almost completely healed. The party tried to stealthily move through the dock warehouse avoiding 6 frost giants. The party observed the giants carrying very large building stones. They let those giants pass (although Rolen tried to hinder them with some caltrops.) When they reached the end of the docs and warehouses, they began walking up the path towards the quarry stealthily.
Tyrus and Anna weren’t stealthy as the rest of the group and 2 giants carrying stone spotted them. Anna tried to hide harder and Tyrus pulled out his mace of terror. One of the frost Giants was terrorized by the mace and ran as far as he could towards the docks. Jaquette turned the remaining Giant into a Chicken and Rolen threw it off the cliff. The rest of the party focused on the Giant running away Tyrus, lucky and Rolen shot at him hurt him to the point that the Giant deep in the fog, turned and fled to their ship. As the Frost Giant fled, Rolen listened to the splashing in the fog, shot another arrow and finished him off.

The Quarry

The party continued up the path towards the quarry and found a dead human with a black dwarven made arrow sticking out of its eye. The party examined the arrow and Rolen kept it. They proceeded forward stealthily and saw a frost Giant standard at the edge of the Quarry looking down. The party sneaked up on the Giant facing the quarry and everyone attacked at once with Lucky’s firebolt up the butt finishing off the Giant. The Giant fell backwards just missing Anna. Anna searched the giant and found a trout.
The party proceeded to the edge of the quarry and investigated it stealthily. They saw a tall skinny dwarven man with a golden bow on his back and quiver of black arrows hanging onto ropes and giving directions dwarves. The dwarves were cutting large stone for the giants. In the Quarry was 5 giants collecting the cut stone.
Lucky sent a message and talked with the Dwarf to determine if he’s working with the Giants. The Dwarf seemed to be preparing an attack on the remaining Giants. Lucky relayed the information to the party and the party initiated another round of combat. One of the Giants carried a freshly piece of cut stone to the base of the cliff and signaled for it to be brought up. The party responded by sending down ropes and then surprising the Giant with a volley of arrows, bolts and spells as Anna slid down the rope to attack with her sun sword. Jaquette finished off the first giant with a sling stone to its forehead. The Dwarves responded by attacking 3 of the remaining giants as the last remaining one ran to attack Anna. The party opened attack on the Giant as it chased Anna around the quarry slashing into her with his great axe. Tyrus finished of the Giant chasing Anna and then assists the dwarves in taking out the other 3. Jaquette climbs down into the Quarry and helps heal Anna.

Farimour Battlehammer.

The tall skinny Dwarf went to check on the other dwarves and Lucky offered to resurrect the dead dwarves. The Dwarf accepted Lucky’s offer and Lucky told him he’d do it first thing in the morning, but it will be expensive. The Dwarf offered to pay whatever it costs. The rest joined the discussion and Rolen asked what the Dwarf’s name was. He told them that he is Farimour Battlehamer and we don’t have a lot of time before the Giant’s come back. The party explained they had already killed 6. Farimour said that only leaves another 6. They together formed a plan to ambush the Giants as the Giants walk from the sea to the Docks.
The party lined up on the docks and began firing arrows and firebolts into the fog as they heard the Giants approaching. The party took out 3 even before they could be seen through the fog. Jaquette cast sunbeam at one of the Frost Giants who covered his eyes but still took some damage. Jandar and Tyrus continued shooting arrows and Lucky throwing firebolts. The Dwarves take out two and Jaquette hits the remaining Giant with her sunbeam blinding him. Farimour finishes the battle with two shots to the neck.
After the battle, Farimour approached lucky and asked him how much to bring his men back to life. Lucky started to calculate it and Farimour assigned Tormor to work out with Anna whatever the cost of Lucky’s services and ensure she gets paid. Rolen asked Farimour about the dead human. Farimour told Rolen that Amkon was an impatient man who was risking the lives of everyone in the town. He couldn’t have been reasoned with and it was better to take his life than have the lives of everyone else at risk.
Farimour was asked about anything he knew about Gnoll attacks on Mirabar. Farimour told the party that he has no qualms with Mirabar. Farimour explained that some of the Dwarves of Gauntlgrym disagreed but as the brother of Buernor Battlehammer, most of the Dwarves of Gauntlgrym are following him. Rolen pressed the issue not quite believing him. They asked him why he is sending people to Gauntlgrym. Farimour explained that he’s been looking for an opening to restart the mines, but the mines are sealed. His last party was slaughtered. Farimour seemed a bit puzzled by the questioning. He asked the party to follow him as he led the party into the town. The town’s folk came out with praise offering the party free food and room and ammunition to the “Order of Heroes and Rolen”

Seven of 137,384,241

Farimour lead the party to a storage shed where he unlocked it and showed them a Monodrone. Lucky had heard of the Modrons. Farimour explained that his last expedition party was found massacred in a cave and this was the only thing that was there. His party of 5 dwarves were ripped to shreds and all they found was this creature. The creature whose name is Seven of 137,384,251 . Seven had a massive dent in its head. Jaquette cast cure wounds on the creature and Anna spent some time trying to repair the dent. Lucky tried to recall as much as he could including some story of thousand of these things going out to every plane as some sort of exodus.
Farimour explained that if Gnolls were to kill his men they would have had to have been extraordinarily powerful. Rolen mentioned that there may be a link between this Monodrone and the Gnoll as there have been many planar disturbances recently. Tyrus mentioned that Yeenoghu does not belong to this plane, if there have been disturbances in the plane perhaps some of these creatures came through.
Farimour asked Tyrus “What did you say?” with wide eyes. Tyrus said that he and his party may be hunting down Yeenoghu. Farimour then excused himself, but before he left Tyrus asked him where he got a bow. Farimour told him that his elven friend Cozir made the bow for him. Farimour told the party to please spend the night in town, accept the hospitality of the people of Port Llast, and then he said “if you wish this creature, it is yours. Then he left.

A pleasant night.

Tormor came in with 750 gp for Anna so that Lucky can restore his people. The party accepted the gifts of the town. Rolen disappeared for a moment and Lucky began entertaining people in the pub. The party was given 20 arrows, bolts or sling ammunition for no charge. Anna spent an hour repairing Seven and removed the dent. Seven didn’t act any differently. Anna sent a message to Fredrik, but Dolly received it. Anna told Dolly “Ask the owl in your stable to deliver the following message to the silver dragon: a Mechanical creature requires your immediate attention in Port Llast.” Dolly replied “Hello? You want me to talk to the Owl? About a Dragon? Hello? Did I get that Right Honey?” The party took a long rest and leveled up to 12

An unpleasant morning.

Rolen was the first to get up and went out for a morning walk about 30 min before the rest of the party got up. Rolen spotted Farimour and another dwarf heading into the woods on a serious mission. Rolen decided to tail them stealthily. Farimour suddenly stopped in the woods, nocked an arrow and crouched down. He whispered to the other dwarf “I think he sent them after me, I’m not sure why. Go, tell the men ‘You can trust him.’ This isn’t right.” The 2nd dwarf got up and ran as fast as he could back towards Port Llast. Rolen stayed and watched Farimour fire 2 arrows into a bush. A Massive Gnoll jumped out and with a flail stunned Farimour.
Rolen leapt up and began firing at the Gnoll. The Gnoll took 3 hits with his Flail against Farimour and Farimour went down. The Gnoll grabbed the bow and yelled something in Abyssal. A 2nd Gnoll leapt up with a flail and began attacking Rolen. Rolen Banished the creature and saw that the first Gnoll was running towards another pack of Gnolls in the bushes. Rolen unbanished the 2nd Gnoll and then slaughtered it. Rolen gazed upon the limp body of Farimour…
