Midway Island

General Summary

The ferry deposited the group onto Midway Island. There were a great many more humans here, intermixed with dwarves, making the crowd much easier to lose oneself in. Stalls and vendors along the main road, from the ferry to Mathair's Heart itself, sold holy trickets for blessing or small souvineers. Paths branched off the main road, leading to ships sailing to the outter ring, and one to a train station connecting Runemace ports to Deepfoot territory. The train has been a large target of DFA attacks, as it's a huge symbol of the human empire. But the train is also a direct connection to Arda, and the humans import massive amounts of food through it to supplement the agriculture lost when the Metal Groves, now the Razed Forrest, was lost. Runemaces have a stigma against them for working with the humans to build up the rail system, but their work directly impacts feeding the Deepfoot clan who suffer the most.   They stopped for a hot dinner at the Shrieking Eel, and saw wanted posters for Tethrys, Murtagh, Guy and Bayleaf, for 200gp each, for Theft of a Vessal, Interference with an Investigation, and Obstruction of Evidence. Seamaline's description also shows, offering 50gp. They chose not to stay and pressed on to a different inn, without human wanted posters, and spent a restless night.   The next morning they pressed on, splitting into two groups of two to be less noticable. As the pass into the eastern side of the island, there are more and more human guards patroling. Around mid morning, Guy spots Dom Vogson, lurking and watching the crowd.   In a fine panic, the group split up further. Guy ducked into a magic shop off the main road, and found a Ring of Smoke Bomb, and Seamaline offered to split from the group and offer a distraction, and the party broke away from the main street, skirting around back alleys and trying to make it to the city proper.   At the bridge to Mathair's Hearth, two dwarf guards stood alone. They aked for the party's papers, and seemed to not notice at all that the party was out of breath and reported to be on the run from the law. When their papers were approved, they were let onto the bridge.   They found an inn called The Alchemist's Husband for the night and went inside.
