Session 3 : AI's, Guns and Money Report

General Summary

Session 3 - Short Recap   Pre-session discussion: All of the dead bodies were spaced. There wasn’t a discussion of whether or not we’d inform anyone about what happened, although I think someone suggested we say we found the ships empty?   (theme music plays)   We opened on Janet Bowman running toward the bridge with Sunshine following but not trying to stop her. Hopper had just quarantined Alex and Jonni was angry with Chip for what was done to Alex and the fact that he tried to circumvent her. Reaching the bridge, she doesn’t remember any of the introductions that happened before she jacked in and transferred Alex. She tells the crew that Alex is an experimental AI she was working on. She asks where she is and after a brief and partial explanation, she’s told the crew of her ship died and only one other cryopod survived. She’s suspicious so Sunshine accesses the Tempest’s cameras, which show alarms going off and the Upper Hand docks, then men in black moving through the ship killing everyone they encounter, seemingly searching for something. Things go dark and when they come back online everyone is dead.   Chip calls for a meeting where there are no cameras. Janet refused to go back in the pod so Hopper fought with her and took a minor injury of bruised ego and bruised ‘ego’, then she was put in the cryopod. The crew went to Sunshine’s workspace and talked for quite some time, deciding to manually reboot Jonni, but when they tried to leave the room they discovered they were locked in. Nugget got the door open and they rushed to the bridge, only to discover that the Tempest was gone. Alex had gained access when they’d viewed the security cameras and taken over the Tempest and is headed for the Raft.   Chip followed the Tempest and after hailing Alex the crew learns that he doesn’t care about the ships, he just wants to get to the Raft. He doesn’t seem malicious, he just wants to survive. The crew decides not to warn the Raft because of the risk of angering Alex.   (theme music plays)
