S15. Mind if we barrow that dragon slayer? Report

General Summary

Or...Where there's a Will, O! There's a Wisp!   After breaking camp, the party was approached by a Centaur named Xanth who warned them of witchlights near the Barrow, and told them where to find it. He mentioned more about Orcs in the Woods, and then being in cahoots with spellcasting half-orcs, one of which was named Grannoc. Torgan seemed to know this name.   The found the barrow, and explored it. Kally first spotted the small tunnel entrance and led the party in, crawling (of course, crawling in to the tight hole just under the dragon's "tail") on her belly. Not far in the tunnel started sloping down into the bowels of the dragon and grew steep enough she was sliding a little. Then suddenly, the trap sprung and the tunnel dropped to a much steeper incline and she slid down and nearly into a pit or drop off at the end of the tunnel.   The rest of the party followed carefully knowing now where the trap was after Kally showed them.   The began to explore the narrow 5' wide, 8' tall tunnels, finished with stonework and packed dirt floors. Haunting lights appeared, moving around the halls trying, apparently to entice them to follow. They split up to follow them, some to the south (Kally, Jareth and Ozus), and some to the north (Kanenas and Sir Nesbit), while Torgan held back and took rear guard.    Kan and Nesbit found some interesting writing on the wall in one spot, and Kally found another pit in a different spot.   The Will O' Whisps attacked at that point and there was fighting on all fronts. In the southern-most room where 1/2 the group fought, a horse skeleton began re-assembling, so Jareth interrupted that as well. Eventually, they reduced the Wisps down to one, that fled to the West, and Kally followed. She found another pit and pointed it out, again, to the others by falling into it.   Then Jareth crawled into a narrow, low passage and well into it, found another trap which triggered a cave-in on him. Time to brush up on suffocation rules for next session...
