Unfinished Business Part 2 - A Plague of Frogs Report

General Summary

Wildthing, now accompanied by Ghost and Nemesis, continued down the winding caves of the DEMON lair and was encountered by a horde of frogs who carried with them the sounds of torment from the pits of hades. Hearing of the trouble over their comms, Faust and Maximum Resistance quickly teleported onsite from Homestead to provide additional backup -- which was necessary because Sandcrab and Windwalker were caught in an energy-portal loop...the energy seeping from the rocks!    Unable to otherwise open the secure doors at various check-points in the cave system, the team busted, blasted, and slashed their way through the doors into what appeared to be a a hallway where prisoners were kept. The team broke through one of the prison doors before Faust started pressing buttons. Doors were opening and overacting magical effects came bursting out of the rooms. Faust walked into one cell and was portaled into another. At the same time, Windwalker re-appeared. But there was no sign of Sandcrab.   With still more brute force, the team pummeled into a large cavernous room which appeared to be a repair-bay with an over-active temporal device - a portal. Frogs were pouring out of the portal and creeping toward the team.   Fearless, Nemesis waded through the frogs toward the portal. Ghost followed suit. Wildthing flew into the room as well, but stayed above the frogs' reach. The frogs jumped onto Ghost and Nemesis, latching onto them with their penetrating teeth. Blood flowed.   Even with the frogs crawling all over her, Nemesis was undeterred -- she attacked the portal. Faust also flew in to assist, blasting at the portal. Ultimately, their combined efforts cracked it into multiple pieces.   Once the portal was broken and blasted sufficiently, the frogs stopped appearing. Still, the room was full of the sharp-toothed monstrosities. However, with some quick-thinking, Maximum Resistance froze the frogs in place with electricity and the rest of the team splattered them into oblivion.   With the area cleared, Faust set about to repair the coffee machine and the rest of the team investigated the mystical technology left behind when the Morbanes 'vanished' more than three years ago.   The story continues on Wednesdays at 8PM Central.
