The End Game: Part 1 & 2 Report

General Summary

In the last six months, the New Champions encountered a “frenemy” organization called “The Division” whose aim was to restore law and order in a society stricken with corruption and strife. The Division opposed supers because of their destructive power and their lack of accountability, but ultimately were forced to work with the New Champions because of repeated attacks from Cypher’s arch-nemesis, Algorithm. There was a time where we weren’t sure if it was only Algorithm attacking The Division…   Then, when Homestead’s firewalls began to crumple under incessant attack, Sparks, Cypher, and Sandcrab helped Socrates fight back against the highly sophisticated — but unidentified — attacker. Sparks even ventured into the Cyberplane, from where the attacks originated. In his time there, Sparks discovered what looked like a black-hole in the distance, drawing him toward it. Before leaving the Cyberplane to escape the black-hole, he caught a glimpse of Little Rocket’s shadow. Having attempted and failed to escape the black-hole, this shadow remained imprinted on the Cyberplane.   In the days leading up to now, in the session entitled, “The End of Math”, the team came to Division’s aid, only to find that Algorithm had obliterated almost their entire organization — a devastating sight. Apparently, the last politician saved from his suburban home jointly by Division and The New Champions was actually a covert agent — a human-appearing cyborg planted inside Division by Algorithm. When he was taken through Division’s firewall, it allowed Algorithm the chance to enter their protected enclave.   The New Champions defeated the ‘shell’ Algorithm was occupying (which was Mechanon, no less). And in the aftermath, Cypher and Sparks discovered that Division had finally built a way into the Cyberplane — now confirmed as the source of the Vanishing.   The team collectively agreed to enter the Cyberplane alongside Socrates, keeping the portal to Division’s headquarters open for their safe return. It would take at least 48 hours for the necessary safeguards to be implemented, bolstering the firewalls that had been devastating by Algorithm…and keeping the team safe while they ventured into the Cyberplane.   In the meantime, the team had 48 hours to make any final arrangements before heading into the unknown. Each of the team dealt with the time differently.   Now, as the team huddles in Division’s secret headquarters, Socrates — in Destroid form — hands members of team small devices. “These devices contain the exact power imprint of the Original Champions. If you find them somewhere out there, in whatever form they are in, this might be useful to you.”   He hands one to Cypher, Max, Sandcrab, Runeforce, and Lyzen. “I have theorized that the digitization process of Vanishing has stripped The Champions of their powers. These imprints should temporarily give them their powers back.”   After searching around the Cyberplane, the team is interrupted by energy readings in each of the four corners of the room. They are quickly surrounded four destroids.

With every blast, ricochet, and missed shot, damage done to the cyberplane brings entire portions of Earth into darkness.
So instead of blasting, Sharp removes her gloves and uses her poison-hands to bring decay to the Destroid. His face melts:
Liliana brings forth the spirits in the Cyberplane and slices through a Destroid:
Traveling further into the Cyberplane, the team finds the portal into The Hollow:
Looking at the portal more closely, they all gather ‘round:
Meanwhile, Socrates continued to communicate with the team about damage happening in the physical world, and advised Sandcrab about particular coordinates where he should strike the wall…surely to cause an inordinate blackout across the world.
As requested, Sandcrab’s strike into the Cyberplane brought his entire body through the wall, dematerializing him into cyberspace.   Sandcrab is gone.   [An entire chess match has been occurring between Socrates and Sennacherib. From the Vanishing seven years ago to this moment. It was Sennacherib who caused the Vanishing, not Dr. Destroyer. It was all Sennacherib. And with Sandcrab’s sacrifice, Socrates completes one final blow — and electromagnetic pulse between the eyes of Sennacherib.]   Socrates speaks, “Sennacharib is no more. Well done, my New Champions. I am so proud of you all.”   He speaks again, but this time to The Division, who must’ve been monitoring the channels, ”Division…Earth has been saved. That is, unless you insist on continuing to Level 37.”   But soon after Sennacherib’s destruction, whatever must’ve been holding The Hollow portal at-bay must’ve ceased and the New Champions were pulled forward into The Hollow. Sennacherib was previously controlling the portal, but in his absence, it was opened.   Socrates stepped in — keeping the door to the Cyberplane open and the hijacked portal into The Hollow under control — hoping for their return.   Watch the entire session here:
