The Resistance - Part 1 Report

General Summary

After the team’s encounter with Doctor Destroyer in Millennium City’s Chinatown, Gigaton began enforcing crackdowns across North America with increasing ferocity. Previously “allowed” activities became illegal overnight along with an increased number of raids against potential pockets of resistance. Recruitment efforts for the police force increased, while their scruples declined. While others on the team were assisting Socrates in the search for answers about the Vanishing, a group of New Champions has formed to aid in the defense of The Resistance.   Distress calls began coming across the DarkR web from Resistance Cells all over the continent. As many as possible, the team helped. But many in the resistance were killed or captured. Then one call came across the DarkR web with a familiar voice — Sarah’s voice — Aaron Sharpe’s (aka Runeforce) daughter and her resistance fighters were under attack by heavily armed “air agents” from the North American Police Form (aka VIPER).    The team immediately responded to the request. And even though Runeforce was most often assisting Socrates at HQ, this time he joined in the effort to save his daughter and her team.   The New Champions arrived on the site and quickly engaged with the NAPF agents. Ghost drew their attention from above while Lil’Rocket ran at them directly. Sandcrab tunneled into abandoned factory, where the firefight was already underway. Wildthing approached from the south side of the building from a distance. Then Runeforce portalled onto the site along with Cypher and his ‘robot army’.   Wildthing leapt over the exterior wall of the facility and onto an Air Agent, slicing through it with her claws with a loud and deafening roar. The agent crashed into the ground.  

  Lil’Rocket blazed around another agent with dizzying speed, sending electricity through the agent, blasting him across the roof of the building.     Inside the building, Sandcrab subdued the Air Agents spearheading the attack. They were unable to escape the collapsing floor and debris that surrounded them.     Meanwhile, Cypher’s robot army scoured the facility for information — identifying the incoming Teleporation of Destroids. One of his robots generated a field of impenetrable energy around him.     As Runeforce portalled into the building, he located Sarah and began a long-range portal screaming aloud to her and her comrades, “Get close to the portal. In a few seconds, you’ll all be transported to safety.”     Then, in just a moment, they were gone. Reappearing in the team’s previously captured Underground DEMON lair.   Others on the team remained and fought off the Destroids. With the help of Cypher, one of the Destroid’s programming was erased. And then with Ghost’s pummeling strength…the other Destroids were severely ‘deactivated’.

  Though one resistance cell was rescued, many others remain threatened. And so “The Resistance” continues…   Watch the video of the session below:
