A Brave New World: An Asteroid Space Base

General Summary

After escaping from the heart of Soal on a mining transport ship, the Oqthcalian heroes now fully understood the ‘end-game’:   Kazars were planning to escape the death of Soal by including themselves and other rich and powerful leaders of the Oqthcalian races in the star’s ‘rebirth’. When Soal explodes, the nearby asteroid belt becomes part of the Oqthcalian record…like ring in the historical record of an old tree, the asteroid belts represent the knowledge transfer between generations — and are included in the next rebirth of Soal.   But Kazar’s in their greed and Abril’s in their arrogance have forgotten to include the disregarded Thraum society. After this being revealed in to him in a dream, Ozar of Soal shares this ‘missing link’ with the team and they agree to return to Soal’s Sector Seven (where they first encountered Thraum).   Upon their return to the planet, the ‘chosen’ Thraum rises to meet them in the air, sharing with the team through mental communication that he is the ‘one’ who has endured many rebirths of Soal…living now for many millennium.   The team allows the Thraum to board the ship and they return to the Asteroid Belt, where the rich and powerful of Oqthcalian have been transported.  

But the entrance to the space base is guarded by two Kazar Weaponmasters on their left and right…   Chronos immediately entangles the Kazars in a time-stop, also encapsulating his teammates (again). Stellar is able to immediately break free, but Ozar is trapped. Stellar picks up Ozar and moves him out of the time-stop so that time moves again for him.   In that moment, Chronos moves behind one of the Kazar warriors and blasts him from behind.   The Kazar Weaponmaster goes reeling backward end-over-end into the weightlessness of space. But it continues firing back at the heroes on the landing pad.   In a defensive move, Stellar Sentinel enacted a field of blinding light around the team, attempting to protect them from incoming fire.   Eventually, the team defeats the Kazar Weaponmasters and gains entry into the space base. But just as soon, they are surrounded by more Weaponmasters and blasted unconscious by rocket fire.    Things are looking grim for the heroes as the end of the world quickly approaches…   Watch the entire video of the session here:
