American Courage: Session Three - A Make-Shift Morgue and Entering the Tunnel Room

General Summary

Members of the New Champions further delved into the underground compound after learning more about the cause of the molten-metal transformations from a Chemist in the main lab area.   The Chemist and his team were researching rare earth minerals on the island but redirected their attention to the ship and its quickly spreading molten-metal transformation. Distraught with his inability to discover the solution in time and the mounting death of agents and crew-members from the ship, the Chemist reluctantly agrees to help the team navigate the remainder of the underground compound. He also informs the team that he thinks there is an "activator" on the ship -- an electromagnetic core that is powering the transformation...originally, only organic materials were being transformed. Now, everything in its path is being affected.    Thanks to Wildthing, and with "assistance" from the lead Chemist, the team located two protective suits and explored the make-shift morgue. Meanwhile, Cypher's Fleetwood bot, "Christine", keeping watch over the cargo-ship attempted to board the ship through an exhaust vent. After navigating hallway down the ship, the metal edges of her frame began to soften and turn molten. Cypher quickly ordered her retreat.   Ultimately, the team made the decision to use the same tunnels being excavated by the agents to board the ship. The session ended with the team making a grand entrance into the main tunnel room -- Maximum Resistance electro-shocked everyone (e.g. Entangle) and Wildthing roared with spirit of a beast that frightened the agents, disabling their communications, and leaving them in disarray.   The heroes are now prepared to disarm the agents in the room, steal their protective equipment, and make their way down a tunnel toward the cargo ship.   But which tunnel?   And will the protective suits keep them safe?   And once they get to the cargo ship, will they be able to deactivate the electromagnetic activator that is causing the transformation to spread?     Watch the video of the session here:       The next session begins the two-part finale of American Courage...and hopefully not our heroes.
