A Brave New World: Sector Seven Report

General Summary

On the planet Oqthcali, eruptions from the main star, "Soal", are common. After a recent and violent Soalar eruption, Oqthcali turned several degrees (the planet does not rotate), plunging previously bright and warm geographies into darkness, but also creating new lands available for settlement that were once in total darkness.   The main caste societies, powerful families, and primary organizations have chosen 'heroes' from their ranks to assist in the reclamation of once dark areas -- and also to recover resources left behind from the hasty evacuations from now-darkened areas.   Several groups ("units" as they are often called) were formed by the partnership of the castes and from among Oqthcali's most powerful families/organizations. Many units were chosen to represent the Kazars, Abrils, and the Wells. One such unit included three heroes, who had never-before known each other.   After brief introductions and instructions on their first mission together, Ozar of Soal, Kaylon'tar, and Chronos were ferried by official transport through the darkness and to the edge of Sector Seven, now called "Dark City". They had been instructed to recover five energy pods that somehow were left behind during the evacuation.    As soon as they entered the "evacuated" sector, it became evident that Dark City was not 'abandoned'. Innumerable Thraum were roaming about, huddling near the very energy pods the team had been sent to recover.    Not much was known about the Thraum. Their behaviors and 'abilities' were largely undocumented by the Abrils, so it could not be anticipated how they would interact with the team. However, once light was visible in the alleyway (from Ozar's telekinetic reach), the Thraum turned their attention toward him and walked slowly toward the "son of Soal". They ultimately would wreak havoc on Ozar, bringing him to a stupor and pushing him backward with a single touch.   Kaylon'tar and Chronos successfully avoided the Thraum and were able to make quicker progress toward moving the energy pods toward the sector's locked entrance. However, at the end of the street where the team entered, Chronos encountered a large creature, covered in military gear and armor. The creature was destroying countless Thraum in his own attempt to obtain an energy pod. Chronos successfully overtook the creature and locked it in a perpetual "Time Stop", using powers that had never been seen before on Oqthcali.   After recovering from the stupor caused by the Thraum, Ozar was also able to recover an energy pod. All the while, the team considered why another military (sanctioned?) creature had been in the sector alongside them...also making notes not to allow Thraum to come nearby in the future.   The story continues...watch the entire video at the link below:
