To Russia With Vengeance: Part 1

General Summary

After witnessing the execution of her aunt and uncle on television, Liliana urgently requested assistance from the New Champions in locating her father (with whom she has not been able to make contact). Socrates traced her father’s travels to St. Petersburg, Russia, to a house in the countryside.   Once aboard the XPlore Plane, the small group began the short journey (estimated to require only twenty seconds aboard the XPlore Plane). But midway through the flight, Sandcrab heard two-clicks…   In only a fraction of a moment, the deafening sound of explosion is heard inside the plane. In the same moment, cosmic energy emanates outward, surrounding the team and holding them in place while devastating heat passes through the plane (and them).   For several minutes, there is intense heat, flames, and shrapnel flying haphazardly, but passing through Liliana, Sandcrab, Lil’Rocket, and Fazer. Still held by an invisible force, cosmic energy swirling around, the team glided slowly into the ocean while pieces of the XPlore Plane splashed into the water all around.   Liliana created a telekinetic barrier upon which the team rested. Jamie immediately rushed to Aaron, no longer covered in runes…but having a light green/blue hue and riddled with shrapnel   His body appeared to be healing (or attempting to heal) but the amount of shrapnel was too much…his regeneration could not compensate.    With that, Lil’Rocket carried Runeforce’s unconscious body back to Homestead for medical attention from Socrates…and, in a blink, Lil’Rocket returned to the place in the ocean where the team floated telekinetically.   From there, the team figured out plan B…making their way to shore with assistance from Lil’Rocket and then tunneling underground to the safe house location in France shared with them from Sean Rogers, the last Silver Avenger.    Once inside the safe house, the team explored the building while Jamie wrestled with control of her powers. Almost immediately after the XPlore Plane’s explosion, transformations began happening inside her…   With nothing happening according to plan, one thing was certain: the ‘runeforce’ departed from Aaron Sharpe.   The story continues…watch the video here:
