Session 9: How to get away with murder Report

General Summary

The session Started with the group at the Croswell estate. Ciel was still missing and Richard and Leo hadn't been seen in some time. Here the vampire inquisition attempted to meet with the members of the house. Kurt answered the door as a horse and the Inquisitor pushed on in. The inquisitor introduced himself as Barnabus VonTal and he was here to investigate the death of Ivan Croswell and Eliza Heart. During this investigation the inquisitors questioned all the members of the house until Victoria emerged from her bed chambers (that she had been staying in for sometime.) She took the inquisition and the members of the house into the dining room.   Here they mentioned to Victoria what their intention was and victoria didn't deny the charges and actually accepted the blame in the death. Barnabus brought Vicoria and her crew into another room to discuss with her the potential consequences for the murder and that Death was a possibility. Victoria mentioned that she understood that was the case.    The group asked Victoria if she was okay with that and she mentioned she had done enough of putting the group in danger and that she needed to take responsibility. Once of the judges of the inquisition met however with Victoria and the group and mentioned that he was one of the people that would decide her fate. He didn't want to see Victoria go and so offered her a life line, if she could reunite him with his son who had run off to the cartharian movement He would vote to spare her life. The group agreed and asked for details. The man mentioned that his son was Lawrence Powell and he had left for Arkham which was a town with strange things going on. The group then packed up and headed out.   Arkham was a shitty small town but, their destination. once there they noticed almost immediately that there was something wrong with the citizens namely the men seemed to be nowhere and the women were all dressed extra modestly, facing down in prayer. Giddeon got closer to investigate and discovered that they all were missing their eyes and they were sown shut. Giddion recoiled in disgust and the group split up. Half the group went to investigate the nearby church and the other group went to the tavern.   the group that went to the church discovered that the doors had been baracaded and so kurt and Fen attempted to break the baracade, this proved to be successful and they got inside. Once inside they noticed that the place had been ransacked. The alter had been defiled with strange symbols drawn on the wall and the crucifix was upside down with a carcus nailed to it. Orusala was able to figure out that it was a wolf carcus. the group was disturbed but, didn't see much else their so went to regroup   the team that went to the Tavern met Richard who said he was on a mission to investigate William, and that his investigation led him to arkham. He mentioned that there was some strangeness in the death certificates here in the town. The group mentioned as well that they were looking for information on the cartharian movement which case Richard pointed them to the old courthouse. The group thanked him for the information and met up with the others. They exchanged information and discussed the next best course of action. The group decided to all head to the courthouse.   the courthouse was falling apart but, they were able to get inside and meet with the movement. The movement mentioned that Lawrence was their democratically elected leader and he and his girlfriend went missing some time ago. The group asked about the circumstances and the movement thought that it was a strange one citing the investigation of lord Adolpho Gray as a huge suspect. The group thanked them for the info and once again decided to split up.   Charlotte, Giddion, and Lenora would investigate city hall wanting to look into the town records like Ricahrd suggested with the others investigating Lawrences house on the edge of town. orusala, Kurt, and fen were able to get to the house in half the time discovering a few clues, namely a few dresses, a locket, and the severed head of Lawrence's girlfriend. They looked more around the house discovering signs of a struggle. soon they heard the sounds of people coming and the group booked it escaping through a secret tunnel they discovered in the woods near the house. They took the tunnel and found that it not only connected to the church but various other points in the town.   the team that investigated the city hall brake into the record rooms by giddion seducing the guard and lenora cuttign off reality. They got the records of some odd deaths in the town and asked the man about his strange garb, he mentioned he got it from the school, the myskatonic university. The group headed there though there wasn't much info they picked up on account of poor rolls.   at the church kurt and crew ran into a strange man that they beat up and tortured for information (Orusala was not happy about this). The man said that he worshiped the death wolf which fen realized was one of the spirit wolves worshiped by werewolves. The groups then met up again with Richard where they discussed their discoveries. Richard looked at the certificates of death and was able to see there were a few discrepancies from what was written on the tombstones in the cemetery. He also mentioned that Carmila was snooping around and to try to figure out more at the myskatonic. The group once again split up into three groups. Lenora and Fenrichard went to the cemetery, Giddion and Charlotte went to go hunt down carmila, and Kurt and Orusala went back to the university.   at the cemetary one of the tombstones that was off was a Ellenore Houston, the duo of Lenora and Fen dug up the grave where they discovered the casket in iron chains. Fen snapped the chains where they saw the corpse had an iron stake through the heart. Lenora removed the stake and was able to communicate with the ghost mentioning her name was Elenore and she was William's wife. They were both a part of the group Lazurus but, she was turned by a vampire and executed by the town. She begged lenora to dispose of her husband.   at the school Kurt was able to get more information out of the townsfolk discovering that the men in the town were a part of the group lazurus and that their leader was Adolpho, his mansion was located on the outskirts of town as well.   the group that met up with Carmila discovered that she too was looking for information on William and that there was a connection with Lazurus. Giddion and Charlotte then left not really gaining much information. The group then went and all met up for the last time. They figure out that the best way to adolpho's manor was to sneak in via the tunnel and they did.   at the estate they met Sophia who was looking for Arthur and that there was a clue there. the group talked for a bit but, let sophia do her thing. There was a promethian at the estate as well who wouldn't let them enter. Kurt angered him causing a huge bum rush of zombies. Sophia stayed to fight them off while the group investigated.   inside the mansion they found Lawrence who was trying to get revenge on Adolpho for using his girlfriend as a sacrifice to bring back the death wolf. The group freed him and chased down Adolpho to his sanctum. Inside his sanctum Lenora did battle with him and actually sealed his sanctum at the cost of her legs. The group then headed out with Lawrence to Boston where they rescued Victoria. Victoria, Lawrence, Barnabus, and Chione discussed the idea of meeting once to figure out the william problem.
