All Quiet In the Western Fort Report

General Summary

After getting stranded in the water, the party devised a method of being able to power the riverboat captained by Fatima and pushed their way to Fort Morninglord where they found the stone foundations of the castle turned black and a protective rune placed all around the castle.   Entering the next day, they began exploring, discovering most the inhabitants slaughtered by a group of ghouls called the Darakhuls led by High Darakhul Ionna, a former cleric of Lathandar who embraced the Three Sun Heresy. Trying to find the coal and smokepowder for the ship, they discovered the writings of Journal of Ser Amphion detailing the history of the days leading up to Darakhul.   Eventually, the players snuck out, breaking the barrier in the church to sneak around and get the supplies from the treasury, circumventing the hunting party chasing them in the eastern side of the castle. On their way out with their haul, they encountered what was likely Amphion , who after much pleading to by some members of the party, and being attacked by others, tried to buy them time to escape.
