Session 12: Downtime Report

General Summary

Grimmaz sends the rest of the party to take their time going back to Parisius, while he travels to Wien. When he arrives, he makes his way to the cathedral of Wien, and is shown into a small monastery on the grounds. Here he met Father Tossil, and finds out the monks are part of the Oder of St Boethius, and have a heavily built library, where he recounts the tale of the Valley & Caverns they had dealt with. Explaining this he is told by the Father that the Order of the Gash is an ancient order of beings serving Leviathan and from a Hell Plane called the Labyrinth, and was originally a daughter of a worker in the Library of Alexandria who had tortured slaves before opening a portal to Leviathan's domain. She got changed into her present form by the Engineer, a creature that serves Leviathan. Also, she was given the name of Stitchscar.   On top of that, when the missing book has been spirited away, it was likely took to a group called the Council of Thirteen, and are the leaders of the Necrocult, and one of two powerful undead groups known by the church. It is hinted that Liches make up this council.   He is also told that he now has a Bag of Holding, a Ring of Defence, and a Land Deed for the area of the Valley. He can swap the latter at any time with a high enough ranking noble, or a Bishop, and even cash it in if needed. Also, he has set it up to start learning Latin, and might make an excuse to start learning Greek and/or Arabic too. After that, he heads down into the city centre with a fresh horse to get a room at the inn he used before, a few drinks in the tavern opposite, goes to bed, and wakes up ready to go in the morning. He is also ready to visit Childeric the Dwarven weaponsmith in the city to get a Battleaxe checked, as it has Dwarven & Elvish runes in places.
