Session 81: Avoiding Death to Find Their Target Report

General Summary

Reolus is conscious of something off the path on the left down the road. With a foul smelling smoke barely there in the air, but it's there. There seems to be longish grass burned in places 2-3 things laying.   The group investigates and find a few dead mountain lions. A group of paw prints is visible which seem to be from 6 creatures. One of which seems to be really heavy. The group investigates if the foul smell is a result of the mountain lions being gnawed on, or if some of the creatures where killed.   A bit ahead to the North the group notices a creature coming out of the bushes. With the wind from the East it's of no concern, but coming out from the tree to the north a wolf creature comes out. On the back a heavy skeletal creature. A total of 6 creatures.   Anselma hits Grimmaz by accident in the butt so he has a scar on each cheek now. Reolus gets hit too with an arrow leaving a thin sore spot across his ass.   A fight starts with an undead commander level entity and 5 wolfs. The wolfs manage to heavily hurt Alfie (leaves her badly burned, and wingless), and kill Kulug (by trampling him first, then burning him, and finally biting his throat out). In the dead grasp of Kulug a note is found.   Anselma helps heal everyone including Alfrie but her wings don't grow back. Nine carefully lifts her and carries her in their pack to protect her.   Guntomor the Fire Storm has been seen again, with Kulug traveling the area Kulug was asked to kill it. If succesfull he could return home to his clan.   Kulug was exiled from his clan for a misdemeanor. Which is one of the reasons why he was so grumpy. This was his chance at repentance and return, unfortunately it didn’t go to plan.   The party takes some time to heal, and dig / build a cairn.   Grimmaz holds a speech. Kulug was a grumpy companion, but still a companion. He'll sadly be missed.   Anselma will be somber.   Reolus throws a fish into the grave.   The group takes a long break. Reolus asks how Grimmaz got to know Kulug.   Kulug was attacking something. Grimmaz was attacking something and that is how they met. Kinda like what everybody else has done just tagging along.   After a long rest the group continues and comes across a river. Looking for a way to cross the river, the group decides to build a raft. Reolus throws a rope and rock across the river and uses Misty Steps to teleport across the river and ties the rope to a heavy rock.   The group continues to build a makeshift bridge that is done after about 30 minutes.   After everyone is across, Reolus destroys the bridge to make sure the group can't be followed. On the farside of the river the group travels on and see that the road isn't as much traveled as the previous road. From the rough map they see that down to the SE a pretty rough ground is visible with a path leading down. It shows where the mountain is and the area where Vladimir usually is.   Nine & Anselma hear Alfrie crying in Nine's bag, and the latter gives Afrie some bits of cloth to help cover herself as makeshift clothes. The team find they have to take her to the Feywild so she can be fully restored. She potentially is also siffering from a form of PTSD.   Anselma takes the first rest, and wants to wake up Reolus with her pretty Egyptian Cobra.
