Session 87: Dealings with the Diplomat Report

General Summary

Anselma brings back a man from the portal with long breads in his hair. Muscular, but not bulky. Resembling Anselma.   The man is curiously looking around at the weird new area with druids and treants and other Eshbach local entities.   Reolus checks up on the brewery how it's going.   Anselma takes the man to the Inn where Nine is just listening in to different things.   (Nine gets filled in about what's been happening).   Reolus enters the inn where Anselma brought her diplomat, and where Nine is resting/reloading.   The diplomat she brought is introduced to Reolus is Kyustala, Chief of the Sceadu of the Sundorwick Forest. After which it seems the diplomat is trying to get acquainted already. Thus Reolus steps in and explains to Harald that Anselma and her diplomat are eating a bit and resting from coming to this side of the portal. Explaining that they will contact them in the afternoon to get together.   Reolus brings the group with the Diplomat to the council.   The diplomat explains the situation and is open to negotiation. As he is amazed at the world and explains that it needs to be kept private from the Wynsumheord.   The council sets up Kyustala in an empty house close to Anselma.   Reolus requests a meeting place from the council also for use later. Which the council will take care of.   They are informed by the Council that the wyvern keeps trying to escape. It chewed it's way out, killed a kitten, and ate it. And it keeps trying to get at the griffon through the bars.   Nine & Kyustala are shown around town. They see the western part with the church & church grounds to the west & the grove there. They see the motte-and-bailey to the north, and shown the two streets leading off to the east. They see the Eschbach Shields, the stables & the messanger service at the end of the road.   On down crossing the river tat the market, they see to the north the brewery being built, and a dyers & leather workers being built on the river. the new town part is mainly up & running. They pass the Ludger forge, the new hewellers, goldsmiths / silversmiths, and the Burgeaters new barracks, they passed up then beyond the new general merchants & clothiers.   From there they went to the old base of the tower and Nine had fun reading some old books, ledgers, scrolls etc. The workers kept a few that was in good enough condition, placing quesationable quality ones on a table, and rubbish in a corner.   The town belonged to the Roman Empire until it fell, and the local Germanic peoples have fought over it since. They all avoided more settlement as they went hrough a period of quyestionable cults and appearances by monstrous creatures / spirits. The blame was placed on the south-eastern grove thats now cured, and sections of the mine in the south-west that had secret cults.   It does mention that the Romans & Germanic peoples openly traded in slaves & treasures as well as the latter acting as mercenaries. There was mention that a couple of families in the Barvarii people practised Black Magic and were powerful ebough it is likely that both still have descendents in the region just north of Salzburg. A mention of one of the family names that hasn't been totally wiped was written down as M----les.   They were also informed earlier about increased spider attacks in the east. The Messanger of the Valley of the Black Ones is also due to make an appearance at some time.
