36: Crow's Hollow - Part 4 -The Abandoned Farm
General Summary
We pick up the session at the start of combat. The part aggravated a pair of vicious vine monsters after Ophellia's spirit guardians damaged them. The party are able to swiftly and easily deal with the plant monsters before continuing their search of the house. The search of the house shows up a number of interesting things. The family were clearly preparing to flee Crow's Hollow and had taken measures to protect themselves from outside forces. However, it is apparent that they never got the chance. Based on the old calander on the wall whatever befell the family occurred more than 5 years previously. After searching the basement, it is clear that The Row's followers have been using the location as a meeting point. As they entered the basement however, they set off an alarm spell glyph, and so wait for someone to turn up in order to question them. The attack with cultists is a fierce one, with two of the more powerful cultist surprising the party with their power and ruthlessness. However, they were able to successfully take one of the cultists alive. Inspecting the cultists, it is clear that they are not quite human anymore, lacking any defining human features as they have become closer with the Rows. They open the doorway to their dimensional manor and lock the cultist up for questioning later in the dungeon. As the party depart the farm, Asog realises he has lost contact with his steed, and when they go to investigate the party find their carriage in flames. Annoyed but not defeated, the party rent a room in the tavern for the night, using the doorway to access their mansion. After interrogating the cultist, discovering that a ritual called "The Great Reaping" is in the final stages of preparation, the party decide that they need to be a little more direct in dealing with the cult if they want to stop it from happening.
