Session #6 Report

General Summary

After fending off the river monster for a second time, our intrepid adventurers returned home to Silverport. With it being after nightfall, they were left with few options for the day, and so the guys decide to follow Arata to the Silversprings Onsen. Here they tried to learn more about Arata’s past, but being distracted with rumors of Dragon Gold in islands to the south… they got few clues to go on.   Instead, they decided to check in on Hana’s Teahouse before they called it a night. They filled in Apollo’s well-informed adopted mother of their adventures over the last couple of days and sought her insight. Despite her connections, Arcane Lore was not her specialty and she was only able to inform them that the Guardian Priests they were to recruit were likely on the move given their recent purchases. As the rest of the party decided to crash for the night, Apollo decided to attempt to do his own sleuthing within the Teahouse for more information. To do this, he decided to don on the bright red, long-nosed mask he purchased at the festival which likely hindered his efforts more than aided in keeping some anonymity… leading to a “No Masks Allowed” sign to be posted at the bar in the morning.   Now that shops were open, the party decided to purchase some armor before continuing on their mission. This led them to a shop known as The Kirin’s Hide, ran by a handsome and eccentric shopkeep aptly known as Kujaku who was once a former acolyte for the Temple of the Guardians in Silverport. After flaunting his to Apollo, Yengandor, and Bimbldorf for purchase, they met up with Daiono before heading to the Temple. Here they found a mysterious sheet of paper covered in crisp black swirls that read in even darker ink:

“He Stirs Within The Depths, Be Honored In His arrival”
Concerned with these ominous words, they questioned an Acolyte who tried to downplay the situation before being coerced into telling them about a strange cult of women that has been harassing them-- the most recent incident being a couple of nights ago at the Summer Festival where the Temple was just trying to perform the rites to honor the Vermillion Bird. The party also learned that the Priests had just left that morning at sunrise. As the party tried to find new leads they returned to meet with Kujaku who couldn’t help much about this mysterious cult but was able to lend some insight on what may have happened down in the mines. He explained to the party how the planet was a living being, how the Elementals were said to be part of its form, and how magical energies flow within the planet as blood flows through a man. While the party listened, Bimbledorf was far more interested in what it was Kujaku was smoking and wondering what the purple smoke may be. Curious he asked to take a toke of the pipe-- surprisingly, the shopkeep allowed him. Then Bimbledorf promptly gagged and puked upon the shopkeep’s floor from the strong substance.   With no further leads, the party decided it was time to meet with Yengandor and Bimbledorf’s grandparents out in the countryside in hopes their long years of research of the Arcane may prove more fruitful for answers.
