Session #13 Report
General Summary
The Wrath of Chunky had been neutralized, the boon of an ‘Oracle Tree’ having been planted in its stead. The Party had proven successful against the dangerous Water Elemental and now were given a chance to recover and collect their thoughts. Diaono spoke with Rinkei about what he saw when he fell into the waters, while the remaining Guardian Priests aided Xiyan in reviving their nearly frozen friend that she had been able to fish out. As Bimbledorf stirred awake, the Party convened into a separate chamber where Arata had motioned them to. As elusive as the grunt of the Silverguard had been in the past, it appeared he was finally willing to open up about the questions they had attempted to ask back in the Silverspring Onsen. First, he reintroduced himself, whom he had really been– a former punk from one of the most violent gangs from before the Katsuro Crackdowns eighteen years ago. His name at the time had been Ikari of the Katta Gang, run by a bloodthirsty psychopath known as Nikuya ‘the Butcher’. During one of the Crackdown Raids, Ikari had been captured by Lieutenant Musa and his men where he was given the ultimatum to either enlist in the Silverguard or die like the mongrel he was. And so he was given a ‘fresh start’, as Arata. He shaved his head and tried to keep a low profile, not wanting to draw attention to his past life– uncertain where his old crew may be hiding exactly, though he has a guess. And much to the former thug’s relief, the Party still accepted him as a friend. And so they tasted the sweet, cheap, sake of victory as they workshopped some names for their registration over a few drinks. As the hour, as far they could tell, grew late they spoke of Bimbledorf’s visions with the Guardian Priests before retiring for the night. Before heading out when they woke, the party received what little info the Guardians were able to glean in a single night. They were given cardinal directions of each event: To the North were the priests who conspired some delayed plan, to the West were the runes that fed the gathering of flame, and to the South were those cultists adorned in gold that gathered the bones of a dragon. The Guardian Priests promised to continue their meditations to investigate and asked the party to let the Acolytes know so they would not worry. As terms were agreed on, and a few more scant clues of what was attempted to be relayed to the party from the Leywaters, they returned to the surface to settle their business. Over breakfast, the party was able to receive an additional healing potion, some harpoons, and a headstart on the Hanzaki Quest. This was in addition to their 10 Koban compensation and the registration of their Adventuring Party as a legitimate business. When asked for their name, the party decided on a reference of a legend they had all heard when they were young:
