Session XXXV: "Don't judge the whores!"
General Summary
The party has been travelling through the Crystalsands Tundra for a day or two since the incident with Kethra's adopted sister, Faerae . The faithful Charles has continued to trudge forward and brought the party to the front door of Hullidak Fortress.
It was worth noting that a tent city has seemed to sprung up recently and the young Honor Liel pointed out the individuals were familiar. They were her neighbors back when she lived in Palebank Village, before the incident. Her father, Irwin Liel confirmed this to the party.
Calling upon Gimisi, Kethra demanded access to the fortress and it was granted. Where upon the party reunited with Mila Teno who provided the how/why there were refugees:
A group of Frost Giants had decended upon Palebank Village and chased the inhabitants away while large structures of ice enveloped the town.
The party sought out Irwin's husband and Honor's second father, Fenton Liel, who was serving as the cook of the fortress. He had been cooking to keep his mind off the fact that Magic Liel was left behind.
It was a foggy morning, as per the norm in the Village; when the war horn went off. The Glass Blades quickly tried to evacuate us while holding off the giants - but it went about as well as you'd expect.
I heard screaming coming upstairs from Magic - when I rushed to get her the whole place was encased in ice! I tried to get to her but it just grew and grew! {One of the Glass Blades} had to pull me from the inn kicking and screaming as the ice took the town and my baby from me!
The group reconviened in their room and discussed what had happened and what was the next course of action. It was either head north to Paleback or return to Shadycreek.
A definite decision was not found, but Gimisi let Bailiwick know there was a dungeon beneath the alter to Torm. Within a paladin's tomb lay with powerful weapon(s) to claim.
The group decided that would be the first stop.
As the session's final act, Arkeshia used her sending stone to reach out to Cecil and asked for him to come to talk.
Oh, it's you! Wonderful timing! I am with her Majesty and we will be there soon!
