Trouble at Sea Report
General Summary
Kursi 32 It's around dinner time and everyone is on the Dawn Serpent. Adaon is passed out due to his battle with the necromancer. Evelyn decided to wrap Adaon up "like a baby". When Adaon wakes up about 45 minutes later, he is upset about how Evelyn and Ivan wrapped him up. Cyren is feeling better,, but warns everyone to stay away from one side of the ship, as it likely still smells. They are now concerned about the floating island (or islands) and how to deal with this when they get there. And no-one knows what is up there. Cyren and Adaon, who both come from Datova, have heard that the people who live there are winged people, but they are xenophobic and shun outsiders. However, they still don't know what is on the islands. Adaon mentions that they do have a werewolf to hunt back in Porte-Entre-Portes. They also still have Evelyn says they should just send Ashira, the priestess of Ga-La, on to the islands to retrieve the Orb of Necros. They decide to go to Ellenar. Cyren is wanted in Ellenar because Monster and Osley killed some people there and he was with them. Adaon requests that they stop the ship. Ælatta says, "No!" He then requests that they slow it as much as possible, to which she agrees. Everyone gets onto the small boat, and Adaon goes to Ellenar with the sword and casts a portal from Ellenar, so they can row through the portal to get to Ellenar. They left Datova around 7pm, and because of time zone differences, they arrive around 11pm in Ellenar. The rowboat arrives, and they are shortly thereafter challenged by a patrol boat. Adaon introduces himself as Adelle (he is wearing Ivan''s gender charge scarf). The patrol warns them that there are wargs within the area. The group goes over to a camp area and is challenged. Evelyn introduces everyone, and Cyren is called "Throg". They go through a cute little story about how Throg is a big softy and they just buried his goldfish last week. "Throg" starts to cry and says, "Why did you remind me!" After this display they are welcomed into the camp. Around 3 am Evelyn hears a scream and several shouts. She kicks Cyren and Ivan awake. This wakes up Adaon. She sprints to the shouting. Cyren quickly follows. Evelyn and Cyren each take a group outside to round back up. Evelyn surprises a warg. It jumps at her and she dodges it. It keeps going, so she continues to the group of travelers. Cyren reaches a second group and one of the wargs notices him. They attack each other, the warg grabs his armoured wrist - thankfully the armour protects him. He smashes it in the head with his shield, damaging its eye. It lets go and flees. He turns to challenge the other two wargs that were attacking the four humans here. Two of the people are down and one warg has been stabbed by a spear. A horn resounds from the city. A flaming humanoid stands at the edge of the encampment, making the noise of a forest fire. (This is Adaon in fire form.) The wargs turn and flee. Cyren and Evelyn help the humans back to the encampment. Then they turn back and attempt to find any bodies left behind. They only find four - the rest are gone. {GM note: there was an injured warg nearby, but they missed it hiding in the bushes.} Kursi 33 Everyone meets in the camp - Adaon goes to sleep, while Evelyn watches over him. "Throg" and Ivan trundle off into the bushes to retrieve bodies, but come across an injured warg. It passes out, so Throg carries it back to camp (after Ivan tries to, but finds that it's too awkward). The people there immediately think it's dead and want to skin it and mount its head on a pike. Ivan lights his magical paladin light on the end of his hammer and tells them to back off. Throg carries it into their tent and wakes Adelle (this is Adaon in female form). After a lot of discussion it is decided to let the warg peacefully pass away. They simply do not have the resources to take care of it right now, and they don't want to upset the people in the camp. So, Cyren (as Throg) carries it into the trees and sings to it when it dies and then he prays over it and for it and buries it. "Throg" and Ivan meet with the people in the camp and find that are 14 people missing. Once the gates open everyone goes into town. They seek out The Drunken Mermaid Inn and book a room. They discover that they are given rates about 1/5 of the normal rate and realise it's because of the rumour that they drove off the wargs. They go and bath, then everyone but Evelyn sleeps and she watches for the ship they are expecting. We wait and watch for the ship... Meanwhile, Evelyn tries to offload some of the drugs she has acquired. Sadly for her, she does not find anyone interested. Adaon mostly meditates. Then the second day he decides to train Cyren in physiology for eight hours. Another night and no ship... Kursi 35 The next day Adaon meditates, Ivan goes the blacksmiths, Evelyn finds an apothecary, and Cyren goes to visit the wargs grave. So, Ivan goes and visits the blacksmithing area. He checks out the weapons, and finds a harpoon gun (spear gun) and a net gun. He wants to buy the net gun and is told it's 200 blun, He also wants to use the forge for a while. The Enar smith agrees. Cyren goes and visits the warg's grave and finds that it's covered in a blanket of flowers and clover. They don't normally grow at this time of year. Evelyn starts at the apothecary to find a potion to breath underwater. She then goes to pawn some of her weapons. She has an arming sword and a war hammer to sell. Once these are sold, she decides to sell a battle axe, but the offer he gives her isn't enough to satisfy her. She then goes to Adaon. He puts a spell on her that allows her to swim as well as an Enar so that she can explore the underwater portion of the city. Before going, she buys a set of goggles so she can see underwater. Adaon decides to use some magic to look out at sea to discover if the ship is coming in soon. After two hours of searching the horizon he sees the ship and calculates that it will come in late the next day. Thereafter he trains Cyren in physiology. Session ends here.
