Session 1.6 Report: Changeling: The FEELS

General Summary

With a return to Earth comes a slightly less hectic pace, and the trio of changelings soon split up to attend to their individual affairs.

First, however, they met with Queen Holly Whittaker and Sir Lazarus Harlow of the Winter Court. The sun had not yet even begun to rise when the pair met Anne, Chloe and Wilbur by the reference desk of the Victoria Library in Westminster, and so the meeting was lit almost solely by the neon glow of nearby exit signs.

First things first, Chloe was assured that Lazarus' motley, known as the Welcome Wagon, would assist with her fetch. They'd be meeting the next evening to plan, and Chloe, of course, would be expected to attend. She gave her lump of wax to Lazarus around this time, and, in return, he gave her an old spool of red string.

Secondly, Queen Holly gave Anne a signed affidavit and directions to a flat in South East London. She was informed that the letter would instruct a man named Frank to provide Anne with fake documentation.

Wilbur requested assistance with the Faceless Man. Providing a description, Holly drew up an image of the daughter and had Lazarus make copies to spread throughout the Winter Court. This bore fruit sooner than he might have expected...

Following Chloe first, we saw her return to Rebecca's apartment. The gargoyle was awake and playing her piano when Chloe returned, and very unhappy. Chloe, Rebecca argued, should have just gone to the Summer Court. Her reasoning was that Lazarus and his group have a tendency to screw things up. There was mention that they've done something terrible in the past.

Chloe was not to be dissuaded, however. So Rebecca was forced to take solace in the knowledge that Queen Lavinia of the Autumn Court would not allow her Knight Morgan, the third member of the Welcome Wagon, to assist in the murder of the fetch.

The following evening, Chloe arrived at the Dog's Head Pub. A great massive ogre was in the process of telling a story about a fishing trip he had gone on, though this came to a quick end once Lazarus spotted her. The ogre was identified as Rodney Sterling.

After a brief discussion, Lazarus proposed a plan: He and Rodney would disable the fetch's car, and then ambush them while they were waiting for a tow. Chloe would need to remain nearby to deal with any constables who arrived to investigate.

Rodney, who had become far less jovial on learning this was to be a murder, warned Chloe that she may not like what she ends up with once all is said and done. He warned, also, that this would not be the Welcome Wagon's fault.

Unlucky enough to have an immediate engagement the following morning, in the form of her volunteer position at an animal shelter, Anne was left with little to no rest following the expedition. Dragging herself in, she came across Sean, the 16 year old slacker who also happened to be employed at the shelter, by the door.

In passing, Sean scolded her for giving the animals flea bath and warned that the shelter would soon run out of the stuff. Anne promised to deliver more herself, though that is a tall order given her lack of funds, and then wondered why the animals would be preferred flea-ridden and mangy.

Investigating Mildred's office left Anne with little more than a name: Wren. That, unfortunately, was not terribly much to go on. Luckily, she was able to slip out of the office before Sean came inside to catch her snooping about.

Through a bit of conversation, Anne learned that Sean was working at the shelter as community service for shoplifting from a convenience store. She also learned that Mildred has connections in high society, and that asking too many questions would be a very bad idea.

Whilst sat on a bench people watching that afternoon, Wilbur was visited by none other than Lazarus. The pictures Holly had instructed the knight to hand out had apparently bore fruit. A dinner date had been set up that very evening. Lamentably, it would be with a member of the Spring Court.

During this same chat, Wilbur also agreed to stop by Queen Holly's studio, to assist her in creating the Lamplighter Candles.

Arriving at a small bistro near the Globe Theater, Wilbur found that the dinner date was to be with a Dryad known as Primrose Rivers (also, just Rose) and her companion, none other than Robert Poyle, the Satyr the group had met during the All Hallow's Eve celebration.

Well exhausted by the expedition the group had been on, Wilbur used what little energy he had remaining to hide obsession with the Faceless Man, lest the Spring and Autumn courtiers think him strange. Nevertheless, the group got to talking while Rob used some sort of token to pay for their drinks for the evening.

A girl with the same general description had been about a bar near Highgate Cemetery sometime recently, Rose informed Wilbur. Her name was Andrea. Nervously, very nervously, Rob insisted that he and Wilbur go bar hopping that weekend in search of her.

From there, the three found themselves talking well into the night. On his way home that evening, Wilbur found that he couldn't quite get the curvature of Rob's horns out of his mind. He had become enamored.

Rewards Granted

Chloe receives 1 beat for resolving her aspiration to acquire help dealing with her Fetch.

Anne receives 1 beat for acquiring a fake ID (even if she hasn't actually met with Frank yet).

Everyone receives 1 beat for session participation.

Missions/Quests Completed

Anne has cottoned on to the fact that there's something weird happening at the Animal Shelter. She has also opened 1/4 of Sean's Doors for social maneuvering. She also acquired a signed paper from Queen Holly Whittaker, which she can bring to Frank, a member of the Winter Court, to acquire forged identification.

Chloe has learned about some simmering disagreements between Lazarus' Motley (The Welcome Wagon), and the Queen of Autumn. Strange, given that one of the Welcome Wagon's members is a Knight of Autumn.

Wilbur learned the name of the Faceless Man's daughter, Andrea. He also met with Rob Poyle and Primrose Rivers, of the Autumn and Spring courts respectively. Rob is insisting that he and Wilbur go out for drinks in search of Andrea over the weekend. Wilbur has also agreed to help Queen Holly Whittaker create the lamplighter candles.

Created Content

A timeline entry has been made for the group's return from the Hedge, as well as the various meetings that took place this session. Lazarus Harlow's page has been updated with Frailties the party has likely noticed by now. Someone needs to remind me to make an NPC article for The Faceless Man and Primrose Rivers.
