Session 14: Fishing for Smugglers Report

General Summary

After their meeting with Lorcan Kell, the party headed to the Venomous Skull to try to find the contact who was handling the person tailing Prof. Kindleton, an old friend of Wolfgang von Recklinghausen. Unfortunately, something spooked the contact, a server going by Selys, and she did not appear inside the tavern. The party attempted to follow tracks at the rear of the tavern, as they determined she had likely met with the bartender at the back door and refused to come in. When doing so, the tracks appeared to magically transform into someone else. The tracks were lost entering the Nettles.   The next morning, the party met with Hana "Gale" Soliogn up in the Cloudwood. She informed the party that she had seen strange activity in the Bleak Gate during a recent trip there, and she believed that a conspiracy including certain Danorans, were acting against the best interests of Flint and Risur. She offered a truce and to work together to find the killers and work against this shadowy threat, an offer the party appeared to accept. Gale offered two items, a ritual to detect planar energies and a message orb.   Finally, Gale let the group know that Nevard Sechim wished to speak on his vision to the entire city tomorrow afternoon (Summer 5), and Gale very firmly requested that the party keep him safe.   The party then investigated the alchemists suspected of providing Nilasa with invisibility potions and being involved with Family smuggling. Through a few lucky rolls and pressure on two subjects, they were able to get Danisca Waryeye to reveal their plan. Nilasa and Danisca had been working with Family smugglers to bring in magical wands to help arm Primalist activists, and the meeting for the goods was to occur that evening.   The session ended afternoon of Summer 4.
