Legacy of Hope Report

General Summary

Introduction

The sun rose and chased away the cool night. The adventurers woke up and began to go about their morning. Each one felt as though something momentous had occurred, but as they tried to recall the memories slipped away like a dream. The older Sirkel knew more than the others about the night's happenings. However, since the events had occurred 15 years in his past he no longer thought anything of them.

Tidran forgot almost everything about the battle the previous night. He was having short and chaotic flashbacks that he didn't fully understand. Perhaps his memories remained due to his mental fortitude and leadership mindset or perhaps his arm muscles remembered his shield force field cracking under incredible pressure. Possibly an invisible wound from the temporal wave of the creatures had left something behind.

The only concrete idea from the night he could remember was hearing the whisper of 3 voices in his head "Why didn't you help?" The voices sounded hauntingly familiar but were too soft and pained for Tidran to pick out. Initially, the arkus thought that someone was pulling a prank on him. After over an hour of still hearing the voices however he couldn't shake the idea that something was not right and somehow felt it was his fault.

Morning Meetup

Lilith went downstairs for breakfast and tea. She was soon joined by Farren. Cassandra and Tidran joined the two shortly after that. Apparently hot food was on everyone's mind. The two Sirkels were also drawn in by the smell of breakfast cooking.

As the adventurers sat and ate they discussed their plans for the day. Tidran mentioned having some odd flashbacks and the others mentioned an odd feeling. The older Sirkel dismissively commented about them saving the world, and Cassandra realized he was withholding information. She questioned him for more information. The older Sirkel gave a very vague reply about saving 2 worlds but said it had happened a long time ago for him.

The sounds of hammering broke through the din of conversation. Since the settlement was being rebuilt hearing hammers was not unusual. What was unusual was the distinct sounds of arguing that accompanied the hammering. The group listened, and soon they could distinguish two voices; the high pitched and excited voice of Star Browder, one of the settlement's miners, and the deeper frustrated voice of Dilzer, the innkeeper.

"Do you know how long it took me to copy all those letters down?" Star asked indignantly. She stepped back and triumphantly viewed her hand-written notice affixed with large nails to the inn door. Dilzer grumbled "But why must you hammer holes in my door when there is a perfectly good message board right next to it?" Star harrumphed. The innkeeper had a point, but her hand was sore from the unfamiliar work of writing and she was rather proud of her handiwork.
