Session 7
General Summary
After leaving Zantor place the team left for the forest. On the way the were ambushed by a bunch of Ankheg, they just popped out of the ground and surprised the group. Ronin as hurt really bad but the group survived.
They can see the mountains off in the distance but daylight was fading and they were just getting close to the tree lines before making camp for the night. It was an uneventful evening and at first light they were off. By mid-day as they approached the mountains, there was a large gate that reached up between two large plateau's, the building was just as tall if not taller. As the team approached there are two guards at the gate and stood at attention as the group approached. They relaxed a bit as soon as they saw Violet, they recognized her and greeted her as if they have know her for years. She was taken aback by this but as the guard explained that he is a friend of Dillard Greychest and remember when you were an infant. He says that normally there is a fee to pass through the gates but her and her friends may pass, he explained that its about a three day journey to the other side where another gate stand guard. It will be safe passage for all who enter, and about midway there is a small inn that they are welcome to stop at. Ronin asks about the Order of Paxius as the guard explains that they avoid the woods at all costs and that they are not welcome here anyway.
About a day and a half later the group reached the inn, it was a nice place and Violet is like a celebrity around here. Although it was strange that the inn keeper offered to tell her stories of her youngest years she surprisingly didn't want to hear them. The next morning the team headed out and finished the journey to the other side. As they were just starting to explore the forest beyond the team came across a clearing. Groob spotted a statue of a woman holding her hands out in front of facing up like releasing something into the wind. And with that he ran up to touch the statue. Just as he approached three lions pounced out of the woods and a fight broke out. Just as the team was finishing of the last lion a large brown bear which with some effort took that down as well.
