Switch Blade is instructed to infiltrate an abandoned lab, obtain the remaining genetic fuel rods located there, and deliver them to Level 10. Briskly, his liaison says. “Successful completion of this mission entitles you to one confidence. "You get one question or you get one favor.”
Once out of the elevator shaft, he turns to his left and immediately sees a mass of six-legged prehistoric looking creatures crawling all over the floor (some terrible genetic experiment?!).
Switch Blade attempts to fly over them, but they jump up toward him and begin swiping at him, narrowly missing. Not taking any chances, Switch Blade envelops them in an incumbrance field, slowing them down. Switch Blade is able to pass over them into the next room, but not without at least two of them connecting with his body suit, providing a painful electrical shock!
The creatures' spines glow and pulsate faintly, while the hover just slightly off the ground.
In the next room, he sees computer equipment from maybe the mid 1900s...
He continues to investigate and locates a room marked "Level 10", bathed in green light from what looks like a reactor.
He turns around and goes upstairs where he finds an observation room of some sort where there are more genetic fuel rods but also more of the prehistoric looking creatures. Quickly dispatching with the creatures, he obtains the rods and carries them to the Level 10 room.
Finally, after locating all of the genetic fuel rods, Switch Blade enters the ‘green room’ and carries the rods into the reactor door.
As he steps into the reactor door, he sees visions of a planet with bright light shining all around. The planet looks like earth, but with much less water.
In another moment he appears outside of what looks like a portal and is standing in sand up to his calves. However, two alien creatures are pointing a gun at him and speaking to him in a language he can't understand. They point the gun at his back and make him move forward. While moving forward Switch Blade turns desolid but continues to walk forward.
Eventually, Switch Blade makes it to what looks like a mechanical outpost. Upon arriving, he meets a human woman who speaks to him...and they both walk together with aliens having guns pointed at their backs...
"My name is Ignis", she speaks.
"Welcome to Earth. Don't ask when."
“The fuel rods you carry with you are using technology developed from this Earth. I forged an agreement with your Earth long, long ago to supply them with this technology. However, in the last century the tides of humanity's fortune has turned. If you are willing, I have a plan to recover this outpost. If you will provide a 'distraction', I will bring these fuel rods to central core and re-establish the ‘Tropus Frequency’. It will cause these creatures to stop in their tracks. Paralyzed.”
Agreeing to help, Switch Blade flies away back toward the portal...but, immediately, the Tropus fighters begin firing at him, missing him entirely because he is not in solid form.
Switch Blade quickly grabs the fuel rods, bringing them back to the reactor core, but not before disabling four of the Topus fighters who were guarding the central core.
Ignis flies up to join him (surrounded in a blaze of fire). Between the two of them, they insert the genetic fuel rods into the core. As soon as they are inserted, the Tropus aliens fell to the ground.
Ignis offers her thanks to Switch Blade, who flies off back toward the portal. “We may be seeing each other again soon.”
